I enjoyed the book immensely. It was easy to listen to, The reader was top notch and her rendition of characters made it easy to identify each one at all times, men and women ! I just bought the second book !

Absolutely wonderful listen. A very humble man. A dreamer ! All his life ! From his young years in the Bronx to today, he hasn’t changed that much. I was surprised to hear that my favorite movies of him weren’t the ones that brought him the most joy ! A complex but fascinating man. A shy man that absolutely needed to be seen and heard.

The most honest

I loved this book. It’s a no holds barred book about the women who lived with, slept with and gravitated around the Kennedy men going back generations to the present. The Family will not be pleased with this book, but the author is brutally honest and has the receipts to show ! The reader is excellent, sharp and not a bit syrupy. As a lover of history, I enjoyed the whole thing !!!!!

This book was so honest, down to earth, well written and well told by both Ron Howard and his brother Clint. I was never bored for even a second. They showed appreciation for their parents belief in them and all that they shared. A wonderful book !!

Always a pleasure to come back to !

I read this book in hardcover many years ago. I came back to listen to it on this app and it reminded me of its importance in my life back then, how it changed my whole outlook on life. It had brought me peace and understanding of so many things. This book just refreshed my mind as to why I exist in this world and what my mission is.

A good, honest story

I enjoyed the book tremendously ! I loved the honesty of it as regards the love between the two women. History books present a cleaned up version of history which is sometimes false. The difficulty of growing up in the late Nineteenth Century, in a dysfunctional upper class family in which appearances are everything, were an extreme challenge for Eléonore ! A complicated life with her husband and children ! A brilliant woman who had to create a life of her own !

I have been a hardcore fan of Dean Koontz since the beginning. I understand the writer’s need to try something different, but in this book, I don’t even recognize my favorite author! Furthermore, the reader’s inflections were getting on my last nerve. In short, I will survive, but the experience was not pleasant! Sorry Dean and sorry Todd.

This biography, read by Harry himself, was incredibly human, and very touching ! It describes his journey in life, his sorrows, his happiness. If it sounds so different from what we read in the media, it is because it describes his own feelings, not those invented by others. In it, he is kind to some who do not deserve kindness, and from what I read, that kindness is not returned as yet. A complicated, toxic, dysfunctional family, the type you want to run from but whose love you still crave !

I listened with mixed feelings of happiness, sadness ! Witnessing what happened behind closed doors. The struggles with motherhood. The strained relationship with her own mother. Trying to be all things to the men in her life. Juggling everything, losing out on some things and hitting highs worth fighting for. Loved this book !
