What even was that

Lemme start by saying I don't review a lot, and I'm at the point I've been through like 400+ books on here and I'm really running out of good options. So I took the chance on this book after seen the high rating. But wow did I have to come back to warn people about this book. The best review on here is the guy saying this was written for 10 year olds. It's seems very likely to be a Young Adult book, or maybe feels more like a roughly translated foreign book. Just low quality writing or poor editing, sometimes it's written dumb down enough for kids then random sentences or words someone starts taking like a wall street banker and your wondering if the character has a multiple personality disorder.
Mc is barely likeable and just automatically wins everything, which can be fun if the authors given him a good story or personality(he didn't and he doesn't). Then there's Toby, hes the single worst character I've ever seen, in any book I've ever read. A whining crybaby that's afraid of everything and never willing to do anything he isn't forced to but still somehow just as strong as his friends because plot i guess.
Here's the crazy thing, and why it isn't rated 1 star. I actually really like the world, and most of the side characters and the magic system, those are all decent enough, and if you can get it for free, or maybe your a bit younger, it's fine I guess, but there's 100s of better titles you should listen to first.

Very very good

Small sort of spoiler ahead, also Im reviewing after reading both first and second books.
Probably one of the best litrpg's I've ever read, so far probably in my top 5. A few little nitpicks like a few of the skill choices are clearly just deus ex machina's. They made me actually yell out loud in my car that's how little sense it made when he takes them, only for the skill to be exactly what he needs a few chapters later.
Other then that the only negative is something I personally disliked but potentially others may not care about; that almost literally everyone but the main character dies. Like more death then a GRRM book. Which I guess could be expected from the title, but like wow if your a sensitive person or maybe want to take a liking to one(or any) of the side characters, just don't. I can off hand think of only 3 side characters out of maybe 15 we get POV time with, that actually survive or at least die in a satisfying way, everyone else was just depressing or disappointing. Still it doesn't really take away from the great pacing and mostly great writing, at least not enough for me to take any stars off. It's just one of those books that make you wish for some fan fiction or maybe change some of the characters fates for your own head cannon.

Histoire
Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.

Really Really Good
Évalué le: 2023-10-04
Not just for litrpg fans, Ive only got a passing interest in litrpg and never gone out of my way for anything vampire related, but I was desperate and gave this book a shot based on the reviews and Wow is it good. Great, relateable and unique characters, light on the stats and skills, just a well paced, well written, really wholesome story. The only negative for me is that empty feeling in my soul when I realised there wasnt more and Id probably be waiting a while. Even if u dont want it now, wishlist it, get it eventually, you wont regret it.

Amazing World just a few nitpicks
Évalué le: 2023-02-11
Spoiler Warning.
Probably one of the most interesting stories from a concept and world building side, absolutely love the world 100\10, I just wish the main character was a little more likeable. The set up is there at the start for him to pick any weapon or broken item to carry him through his journey, being a AI with the sum total of all human history/knowledge, and yet I knew from the first second he was going to ruin this amazing fantasy world by picking a gun. The whole point of him going to this world was he wanted a fantasy sword and sorcery game world like in the mmos he played with his former owners son, and I get that hes now in a real body and can die so he should take his safety seriously. BUT only like two days into his fantasy world and hes made a gun and gone from already strong for a starting character to completely world breaking op.
If you can get over the fact that basically all the challenges faced in the book are solved by Gun Op, then you'll love the book, I suffered through the auto winning combat for the amazing world, I don't regret listening to book 1, but i wont be continuing.

Very nice story, a little light on the world building for my personal taste but its only book one of a hopefully long series. Im also sure some people will say its slow or lacking action but i thought it a great introduction, only complaint really is that I feel like book 1 and 2 were probably meant to be 1 book and someone tried to make more money. Still worth it tho.

Liked it well enough, I will be buying the next One.
Decent pacing, narration and story, biggest complaint is that it felt like an origin story that might better have been better as a summary, it sounds weird I know but if you don't plan to continue past book 1, this book is basically tragedy and depression with a nuetralish end. It's not even a cliff hanger ending it just kind of guilts you into continuing. Maybe I'd rate it 3 if I wasn't so desperate for anything decent to read, and this is decent.
