A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

Great novel once again for 4th book! We learn about the earth spirit!
Évalué le: 2025-01-07
This novel is great like all the previous books in the series! We get an update from all the characters. Meimei gives birth. Big D learns the story on how the first emperor hurt the earth spirt, then he shared that story with habitants of Faram. Jin speaks with the earth spirit to learn her side of her story. Lots of love and chi being shared around!
Low angst very satisfying cultivation story!
Then grandpa finished his fight with demons and meet with the librarian to ask for his guidance to get to Faram. So we know that in the 5th book Jin and his grandpa will reunite.
I recommend!

Totaly epic ending!
Évalué le: 2024-12-08
The story is great with same dry or dark humour throughout the story and book series.
to hear about Jason fighting the Pheonix and the unamed horror in his soul was great. The ending was epic!
I love that Emy gets to have the best teacher possible and that she gets to understand how quickly a fight can go wrong when you are fighting a beast or monster stronger than you and your team.
I recommend reading & listening this book & series!

The story is still going strong!

Narration was good with quick pace.
Good story, still strong at 10 books.
The characters are well definined, have depth and are interesting.
I love that we have the battles in nevermore but we still get information from characters outside of the dungeon like Vily & Jack's friends.

Strength of a teenaged woman
Évalué le: 2024-10-23
Astounding story about a teenaged woman that raised her baby sister in the forest and hunted for to add to their food stash while surviving their mother mistreatment, abuse and mental instability enhanced by meth addiction. The story starts with both children being found by child wildfare and their father. Followed by learning from a judge that their mother had kidnapped them. The rest of the story is about how the children adapt to their new home life and school intercepted by memories of their hardships and traumas. Great story! The story line is perfect and hooks us up!

Histoire
Four chronically homeless people - Amelia One Sky, Timber, Double Dick and Digger - seek refuge in a warm movie theater when a severe Arctic front descends on the city. During what is supposed to be a one-time event, this temporary refuge transfixes them. They fall in love with this new world and, once the weather clears, continue their trips to the cinema. On one of these outings they meet Granite, a jaded and lonely journalist who has turned his back on writing “the same story over and over again” in favor of the escapist qualities of film, and an unlikely friendship is struck.

Good story about street life that is not romanticized
Évalué le: 2024-08-09
It’s a strong story were four friends become nine friends most of them linked by their love of movies.
I like that winning big money doesn’t change how street people really are. They are rounders and will remain like that the rest of their life.
I am saddened that one person doesn’t realize their dream but such if life.
The story brings depths to each characters. You learn to love them despite their faults and respect their strengths and what they bring to each other. Powerful story! I am surprised it was that good and entertaining there was as many light moments as dark and serious ones.

Bonne narration!

Interesting achievement and story

The narration was very good and kept you interested in the story to learn what would happen next.
Great achievement! Hiking such a long trail throughout Canada and the USA.
I would have done pretty much the same as the author did when discussing with strangers about his goal and purpose. You need to protect yourself first by not making waves and not being controversial or adversarial.
Then I also understood how he could be more assertive with his opinions and the truth about the environmental destruction caused by petroleum and it’s dangers as he could see the end of his journey (closer to accomplishing his goal) being & feeling free to be himself when in public.
Quite a wild idea and very long journey & grwat accomplishment! I truly hope that pipeline never gets built.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing your engagement and story with us readers!

Nathaniel healed in anonimity, Veronica had to learn make her own decisions, Joe had to find a cause.
Évalué le: 2024-04-21
These three stories in the middle fall series are powerful like the other one.
Nathaniel’ mother was a child bride in USA in a religious community. She escaped and became a protector for Nathaniel. Nathaniel lived a quiet life with his best friend and protector, his mom, his aunt and dog. He help patients by listening to their wishes.
Veronica met Nathaniel before being assisted in death. She returned to her adolescence to learn how to make decisions for herself and connect with her family and surrounding better. She tried having relationships with men that showed her attention. She became a rich investor but felt unfulfilled until she decided to pursue someone that she had overlooked during her previous lives.
Joe had to find his cause, he did not have “reset” often to find his purposes in life and happiness. Finding friends with handymen and construction crowd and war veterans. In his second life he tried to save his two best friends and failed. In his third life he managed to save them but he learns something Nathaniel always knew, for some people, it’s their time.
The reader learns about each character and grows attached to them. All book ending are satisfactory.

Great series of book! Love that the books are grouped in omnibus now!
Évalué le: 2024-04-18
The narrators for the three first books of the series are good and show emotions well.
The stories themselves are great! You get hooked very quickly and want to know what will hapoen, what will change.
It wasn’t the first time that I listen to these books but ot was the first time that I listened to them back to back. This omnibus version allowed me do get more parallel between the stories.
My favourite characters is definitely the main characters of the second book, even after reading or listening to other books in the series. Nothing is as strong as redemption. Please enjoy the series like I did!

Hard childhood & resilience
Évalué le: 2024-04-12
Thanks for sharing your story. I was blaming Cea’s mother for being a bad parent and still do but learning in the last chapter how damaged she got during her own childhood explained a bit.
Overall Cea was raised in an unsafe environment, loved by her family but not supervised adequately, exposed to sexual acts by adults around her, normalizing her exposure when it was abordant behaviour. She was also constantly put into situations where she was at risk. She really did survive her childhood & healed herself that allowed her to build a good life with her family.
True resilience to hardships, strength in recognizing her own bad behaviour and self sabotage.
Good pace on the story. Good narration.
