Right now, Truth is under attack, and much is at stake. Christians are caught in the crossfire of alternative Christian histories, emerging faulty texts, and a cultural push to eliminate absolute Truth altogether. As a result, many churches and Christians have been deceived. Worse still, they propagate the deception that poses itself as Truth!

John MacArthur is great at teaching the truth and backed with scriptures, without compromise. That’s the way it should be with all ministers. Unfortunately, not all ministers follow Christ. Thank you, Jesus, for people like this author. This book is highly recommended.

Histoire
England, 1920. Eleanor Swift has spent the last few years travelling the world: taking tea in China, tasting alligators in Peru, escaping bandits in Persia and she has just arrived in England after a chaotic 45-day flight from South Africa. Chipstone is about the sleepiest town you could have the misfortune to meet. But then, from the edge of a quarry, through the driving rain, Eleanor is shocked to see a man shot and killed in the distance. Before she can climb down to the spot, the villain is gone and the body has vanished.

Surprisingly interesting!

I thought this was going to be a bit dull since it’s the English, murder or not. But I found it surprisingly interesting—all the way to the end! Recommended.

Histoire
Relentless phone calls interrupt the peace of a warm August morning in Three Pines. Though the tiny Québec village is impossible to find on any map, someone has managed to track down Armand Gamache, head of homicide at the Sûreté, as he sits with his wife in their back garden. Reine-Marie watches with increasing unease as her husband refuses to pick up, though he clearly knows who is on the other end. When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

Very Interesting!
Évalué le: 2024-10-29
Dick Van Dyke has interesting thoughts in his 2nd book. Different from his first one. He made me remember his show back in the 70s. I had watched every episode. Funny and nice. He talked a lot about being his age during this recorded audiobook. Memory lane. He led an interesting life, even when WW2 was nearly over. I believe he and or his family prayed bc according to his biography, he did not have to fight in the war. I think he had forgotten about it. Recommended after his first biography.
