Decent history of the end and aftermath of WWII

This book was a detailed and competent history of the end of the war in the Pacific. Content is quite well-researched and comprehensive. It does, however, read like a book of an earlier era. Neither a good thing or a bad thing. :-)

Exceptionally comprehensive overview of the history of the UK's experience in the second half of the war and beyond. Also possibly the best non-fiction audiobook performance I've ever heard.
