Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - derailing the War Between the States and changing the nation forever. With his trademark mirth and boundless charisma, actor Nick Offerman brought the loveable shenanigans of Twain's adolescent hero to life in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Now, in yet another virtuosic performance, the actor proves that despite being separated by a span of over a century, his connection to the author and his work is undeniable and that theirs is a timeless collaboration that should not be missed.

Nick Offerman was the one saving grace here. It was just the same "joke" over and over again: these old time-y people don't know basic science or western politics - I'll show them!

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Unfortunately, this is one of those books I think that I would have preferred reading on my own, rather than listening to. I just felt like the way that the narrator voiced the main character was so infuriating that I couldn't focus on the actual story.

I absolutely loved this follow up to Scythe. My only complaint is that I got too invested in the story, and I stressed myself out and had to take a break!

Very disappointing
Reviewed: 2018-08-30
I had heard so much hype about this book and how AMAZING it was, and I was extremely disappointed. Jude was not the morally grey, ambitious, clever Slytherin protagonist I was promised - she was slow on the uptake and annoying. The plot took forever to get going, and the world building was lacklustre.
