Story
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

This book is part of a series which you can buy as a set with 1 credit. i didn't know that. This book is amazing as an audiobook. My husband and I are binge listening. Makes me feel like we are in a video game. You will not be disappointed. There is some gross stories but they end fast.

Another Fun Tale
Reviewed: 2024-11-22
This book 2 is better than the 1st book. I thought book 1 was so fun. This book had a few twists and lots of humour added. Joyce is definitely there for comedy. I gave 4 stars because there is quite a bit of rambling that gets a bit tiring after reading most of the book. Will be getting the other books in series. The narrator is perfectly chosen. She did an amazing read.

Romance with a bit of substance

It took me a long time to get into this book. I really wanted it to go faster. When I was ready to put it away it suddenly caught my interest. The story was predictable, but is that always a bad thing? Sometimes we need that comfort feeling when reading a book. A place you can relax into knowing you'll be safe from the world's pressures. The narrator was a perfect choice for this book.

Story
When the Australian Mystery Writers’ Society invited me to their crime-writing festival aboard the Ghan, the famous train between Darwin and Adelaide, I was hoping for some inspiration for my second book. Fiction, this time: I needed a break from real people killing each other. Obviously, that didn’t pan out.

Benjamin Stevensen I a genius writer. I love reading him on audiobook because he adds half chapters. They explain and recap bits you might not have remembered. He also adds some sass. The story itself twists and turns and gets you all confident you know the killer but you don't. Thinking you've solved it is just your ego playing tricks on you. My entire family awaits book 3!

I have read this book many times on paper. I decided to try it as an audiobook. I enjoyed the narrator. She was perfect for this story. I don't really know why Mary Catherine's story was put in. I found it to be a distraction (although the narrator was perfect with her accent). The main story was great watching the choices we make effect those around us. As always I enjoyed Francine Rivers writing.

This series was recommended by so many I bought the whole series. Book 1 is so violent it was at the very edge of my limit crossing over many times. The narrator sounded like he had rocks in his mouth which was perfect for the main character. I did not enjoy this book because of how long it took to go anywhere and the violence.

Enjoyed this story. It is your typical James Bond story so if like that you will enjoy this. The narrator is perfect for this story. His voice can be a bit hypnotic as there are no highs or lows, just the lull of his one tone voice.

Story
Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some just unfortunate. I’m Ernest Cunningham. Call me Ern or Ernie. I wish I’d killed whoever decided our family reunion should be at a ski resort, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

When it started I was not sure about the writing style. As I learned the characters I wanted to know more. They seemed like a normal chaotic family with a lot of drama. Not sure the paper book has the narrator's asides but they sure added a lot of humour to the audiobook. The story had many turns and was a fun escape from life. Buying the Author's next book for sure.
