Too much internal banter and brutal narration

This authors style seems to be consistent: lots of obsessive internal banter of the protagonist. She's slow to have the love interests connect and the build up is painful not suspenseful.

I'm not in the habit of stopping a book I've started but definitely took me a long time to get through this one

Loved the porter family conclusion hated how the voices for the brothers- especially Tye’s- were done. After reading the other stories this performer made them sound like lug heads which was really off putting.

This has been my favourite of the series so far. Jake’s internal struggle with PTSD, his families unwavering support, the wisdom from Lindy and her mom- all encouraging and relatable.

This book should define have a trigger warning if someone has experienced SA/abuse.

It had great character development and lovable characters but a really disappointing last 2 chapters. Definitely expected more from a final book in a series of 3.

Thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series - more than the first. The love story and character development more believable.

Enjoyed the character development of evelina and also enjoyed the explanation of Barkley’s family.

Absolutely love this “street rat” family from Poplar. Definitely recomend giving all three books a read. The first book is a little boring but books 2 and 3 are much better!

The story wasn’t as captivating as the first two in the series. I found my myself dreading the voice and plots of the rushworths.

But still good series. Would have loved a little longer of a snippet about Brice and Rowena’s baby as their story was my favourite.

I really loved the character development and love story of Emma and Henry. The back and forth and their banter.
