The different storylines that tie this whole story together are amazing. The way Maureen and Shawny were brought together after several years was wonderful. The detail to all the emotional drama that happens in this book are valid and true to life. Once again the narrator Justine is phenomenal bringing all the characters individually to life. Every time I listen to another book it’s like going home. Thank you Stacey for spinning your magic again! Keep them coming!

I found this third book in the series darker than I liked. I realize that’s a me problem and not the story’s problem. His eye for an eye is treatment of her when his ego was hurt by bringing the whore to his house and with the intention of having her watch was beyond cruel, especially since he had misunderstood why she had slighted him or so he thought A typical Italian man characteristic. (I am Sicilian and can say this). Even at the end knowing she had been raped didn’t change how he made love to her and I didn’t care for that. This was the first series of Mafia Romance I have read and have realized it’s not something I like. Happy reading to all those that do.

Although the narrator was good at narrating in general, her different voices for some of the women and particularly the men was not so good. It reminded me of the Munchkins on the Wizard of Oz. I did bot like the men’s part at all. I do not wish to sound rude or disrespectful but I understand why the narrator was different in the books that followed. In future I will not assume it’s the same person reading the whole series. The story itself was good. Although the Duke was a bit of an arse for the most part, redeeming himself in the end. I have enjoyed the series very much and recommend it. The adventures of the sisters and their stories are entertaining.

I disliked the narration with the change of voices. The story itself was good but that squeaky voice representation of the women is really grating. Also disliked how they made Blaine’s voice so old and uncouth. He was what? 21-25 yrs old and sounded like an 80 yr old. He was made to sound like he had no class or manners which I disliked. It was unrealistic that a lady would marry a man that sounded like that. Also I didnt understand how or why the kidnapping was never discussed with Brian the man in charge? And why did both Annabelle and Alina have to marry whom they were told to (was happenstance that they loved whom they married), and Chrissy didn’t? How did Blaine dictate that when Duncan had to jump through hoops to marry Alina? I believe there are more books in the series but will put off listening to them simply because of that screechy voice all the leading ladies have. Maybe a different narrator would put a different spin on story.

I enjoyed the author’s story, she did a great job telling the story i liked the narrator but disliked the squeaky annoying voices she made for the ladies. It almost made the ladies seem stupid to put it bluntly, when their characters were not. Also the men too sounded a bit thick? All around good story though and typical of Highland times of that era. I am going to listen to book 3.

I thought the ins and outs of the story were excellent! I wish Scarlett had come forward sooner with her explanation that she was from the future. I always enjoy the wonder that the people from the past express at today’s technology and knowing what is to come. I loved the tie in at the end to the previous novel! Can’t wait to listen to it!! It’s a series that anyone who loves time travel stories should read/listen to.

It was was a different type of story. I enjoyed the parallel story of the past running along with the main story. It was lovely that the 2 main women characters found God; but I found it a bit “hokey” and a bit too much and preachy at the end. It was a nice listen though.

A story told from a woman’s perspective of being misjudged. A woman who held no rancour right til the end. Apparently a true story typical of british aristocratic taking control of what wasn’t theirs. Gives one hope that being a good decent human can change both minds, hearts and lives and to never judge a book by it’s cover. Beautifully told and descriptive. Makes you feel like you were there.

Great book. As always we care for the characters and the story always leaves us with unfinished business. In this case hints that Ashcroft is still sitting in the sidelines waiting to do more damage…..
