Story
On Zero Day of the first and last cyberwar in human history, the internet went dark, transport and power grids collapsed and cities began to starve, showing just how vulnerable the world could be to a targeted campaign of online sabotage. This final installment of this prescient epic of civilisation collapse finds the small ragtag band of survivors come together to face a new, but eerily familiar threat - the rise of a fascist militia among the ruins of a failing country.

Story
This story picks up exactly where book one left off. The Talbot family is evacuating their home amid a zombie apocalypse. Mankind is on the edge of extinction as a new dominant, mindless opponent scours in search of food, which happens to be non-infected humans. In this book are the journal entries of Michael Talbot, his wife, Tracy, and their kids, Nicole, Justin, and Travis. With them are Brendon, Nicole's fiancee, and Tommy, previously a Wal-Mart door greeter who may be more than he seems.

Good narrator, but absolutely the wrong guy for this genre of story. As a result it took away a lot from the story.

Disappointing Narration
Reviewed: 2024-10-20
I was so looking forward to listening to this but halfway through book two I just can't handle the narration. Pinchot sounds like he's reading bad erotica instead of a post-apocalyptic story. The soft whispering voice through action sequences and then the awkward jolted 'angry' voice is just not working. If ever there was a series which desperately needed Bray's voice it is this one. The story was well written and interesting for as long as I was able to listen.

Story
New York Times and number one Audible.com best-selling author Jeremy Robinson takes listeners on a journey that is not only action-packed, but full of scientific and philosophical intrigue. In his most mind-bending story since Infinite and Alter, Robinson blends genres, belief systems, and bold prose into an unputdownable tale exploring the nature of reality.

A Different Kind of Story
Reviewed: 2024-06-03
This was not at all what I expected and it's definitely not my favorite of Jeremy's books, but it was different and entertaining enough to keep listening. As always Bray was awesome. However, I did not care for the second narrator's reading style and especially so back to back with Bray. His narration style was too fast and halting and thus far too distracting.
Overall it's worth a listen if you're a fan of JR and want to listen to something different and thought provoking.

Difficult to listen to
Reviewed: 2024-04-06
I made it a few books in but just couldn't listen any longer. It's unsophisticated writing at best, juvenile even. The story timeline was so rushed that on day three of the 'outbreak' already the crazies were kidnapping people? As far fetched as the premise of Zombies may be, this story line doesn't even come close to how quickly things will likely unravel in a post-apocalyptic world. And far too much religious references!

Mundane and unnecessarily technical
Reviewed: 2024-03-29
By far the worst book of the series. Especially disliked the social commentary directed towards listeners against gun control part way through. It was too obvious and took away from the story. The rest of the chapters were as boring as watching paint dry. The first books in this series are however excellent. My advice is to stop at the book just before this one and save your credit.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. The incredible narration by RC Bray takes this series to a new level and makes it worthy of listening to again and again!
