Story
In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family's orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.

What are our values in line, how do we acquire those values, and the outcome of taking a chance in life were the main takeaways of this book. Entertaining and engaging, good performance!

Story
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

The book is quite entertaining, excellent performance. I particularly liked the fact that it slowly reveals who people really are and also how the revelations were put forward, surprising end.

Story
As I wrote in the last chapter of the first series, I had given myself my word that during the whole of this time, I would do no writing whatsoever, but would only—for the well-being of the most deserving of these subordinate parts, slowly and gently—drink down all the bottles of old Calvados now at my disposal by the will of fate in the wine-cellar of the Prieuré, and specially provided the century before last by people who understood the true sense of life.

Took a little time to get used to the narrator. But once I got past that, the book is simply a voyage through the life of this master, that I heard of much - but of which I knew nothing. I am so glad he had the time and will to write this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the collection.

Story
War and Peace is at once an epic war chronicle and an exploration of everything that make us all human: love and hate, ambition and despair, life and death. Allow yourself to get lost in the lives of three Russian aristocratic families, whose triumphs and challenges are every bit as resonant to today’s listener as they were to original readers. Thandiwe Newton inhabits each character with such flair that it is easy to forget that you are listening to one voice.

I can’t get over how well this book is narrated!
I cannot stop listening to it, even the war, strategy and politics discussed was quite interesting as the author keeps comparing the behavior of generals and landowners to every day life examples to prove his point. No wonder this is a classic.

I have read many accounts of survival/life after earthly death - and this book coincides with many of the accounts. And how love can transform our lives through many incarnations. Very interesting book, detailed on his account off spiritual cities, a.k.a. Summerland as well, as the power of love transcending lifetimes.
