Story
Two best friends grow up together, fall in love, get married, and live happily ever after. But what about the one where the girl gets friend-zoned after an awkward attempt at making a move on her best friend? That’s my story. More than a decade has passed, and while our platonic relationship somehow survived, I still cringe when I think about it. Like now. I’m supposed to be getting my hotel ready for all the guests from the St. Patrick's Day parades, but instead, I’m staring at my best friend while he repairs one of my sinks.

Ok so, imma start off by saying that I love me some E (him nd Jaclyn tgther is fire)...nd altho I did enjoy this book, I had a REALLY hard time getting past the on again/off again Boston accents. Only a 3 star for performance as a result.
As far as the story went, I really enjoyed the pace nd the back nd forth between characters. it was believable that 2 life-long friends wouldn't wanna ruin a friendship nd were nervous to let loose the feelings running rampant.
Very enjoyable little book.

There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I've always been good at following rules. Until she came. Then I learned new rules.

Loooove the spice. Perfect balance of a commanding no-nonsense man nd a strong, sexually open woman. The romance matched the kink.

I had a hard time with this one. I just never got into it. There were so many characters that I had a very difficult time keeping them straight. Perhaps it would have been better in book form

Perfectly Predictable
Reviewed: 2022-02-08
Haven't indulged in one of these stories in quite a while. The romance was predictable, as was the climax, but it was refreshing for a change from what I normally read.
The narrator was great. Giving just slight changes to each character. Didn't feel like a whole production, more like your momma reading to you nd doing voices. Callie was prolly my fave voice overall.
Good listen all around.

Styvie Savard was a damn good cop - before she made a mistake that cost her everything. Now she lives in her car, works a dead-end job, and scrapes by on the fumes of a dwindling savings account. Life couldn’t get much worse, until it does. One morning on the way to work, Styvie hits a 16-year-old, Dharma, with her car. When the injured girl flees the scene, Styvie finds that she can’t leave well enough alone.

Narrator Issues
Reviewed: 2022-01-19
I enjoyed this book but did find myself not paying very close attention several times. The story was left kind of open ended as well and I wish we would have had some closure with some things.
My biggest issue is how young the narrator sounded as the main character is a 40 year old ex cop. There was no grit to her voice. No experience. Her voice better suited the 16 year old supporting character.
Worth a listen but, for me, not one I'd pick up again.

Ugh.
Otherwise a well written story. I have started 2 audiobooks in the last 3 weeks nd couldn't finish them. This one was captivating enuf to keep me listening. A+ My only complaint was the narrator sounding all breathy with every word.

On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Kept Me Guessing
Reviewed: 2021-05-25
This was my first experience with Lucy Foley. Was a bit difficult to sink my teeth into at first but eventually I just committed myself nd it got significantly better as it went on.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narrators accents, altho there were a few, Johnno in particular, who's voice wasn't matched up in my head. Obviously, that's just a me thing tho.
The plot was intricate nd well woven. Each characters stories were engaging nd all pretty important to the central theme. All coming to fruition in a "killer" ending that left me satisfied, eventho there were some obvious loose ends.
Overall, I'm happy with it nd will be moving on to The Hunting Party.

I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

What an insightful peek into the man I have admired onscreen for so long. I say peek but really, it was more a deep satifying dive. What a life this man has lived nd mostly under the radar. Considering his celebrity, that's quite the feat! Get lost, educate, inspire yourself, look back, but mostly...just keep living.

Story
I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day, it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

great listen! I normally just listen at work...so it can take a week or two to get thru most audiobooks. this one took me two days...I was hooked. the back nd forth of each character reading their letters was nice change nd immensely enjoyable. I am much like Luca in many ways so I identified with her mindset nearly the entire time. being in the grip of panic attacks nd constant anxiety/worry is a very real nd very difficult thing. Griff was the perfect fantasy man...cause obvs they all hafta have a British (or even Australian) accent to swoon over...not to mention all his other swoonworthy attributes. nd my lord! that narrator! Holy cow! What an incredible voice this guy's got! I looked forward to his chapters the most...even the not naughty ones. there was sweetness nd passion. apprehension nd bravery. love nd loss. neuroses nd calm. The perfect balance of everything in my opinion. I was feeling emotions with both characters thruout the entirety of this journey. Laughing out loud at some parts nd cheering them on in others. I even teared up near the end. this would make a helluva movie - but then again, maybe not. Wouldn't wanna ruin the fantasy.

this one was hard to listen to. I love the Aussie accent but I struggled with understanding quite a few of the ppl in this particular podcast. As a result, I wasn't as emotionally invested as I normally get. Add to that that we came full circle without any real conclusion nd overall, I was disappointed.
