About this listen

54 hours of audio in a single offering!

Magic powers? His own mech? A whole airship of gorgeous women desperate for his genes? Yes, please!

Paralyzed by a drunk driver, let go from his job, and stuck in a sad, stagnant town in the middle of nowhere, Joseph Locke was having the worst day of his life.

And then he died.

But considering that he wakes up with a brand new body, in the cockpit of a badass steampunk robot, on an airship of nothing but hot babes, his next life may not be all that bad. Especially when he learns that he’s a void mage—the rarest and most powerful of all mages on the world of Haven. And his shipmates want to help him make more.

As if that weren’t enough, they offer Locke a job piloting one of their mechs, which they call Titans. In the meantime, Locke has to learn his way around this exciting world, all while coming to grips with his new—and dangerous—occupation. Will he be able to master his Titan? How can he best upgrade the machine to become as badass as possible? Why’s a strange parasitic sludge falling from the sky? And what’s up with the ghost of a space witch living in his Titan—and inside his head?

Decent box set

A good length story, which actually has an ending.

Writing seems decent, MC has plenty of plot armor, but is at least reasonably intelligent.

Main issues this has is:

1) Too much fan service.. it’s common in this genre but the sex scenes are too common and end up breaking the immersion.

2) they need to put the sex scenes in a separate chapter so it can safely be skipped without missing on story .

the amalgamation is good except for one glaring issue

just as a heads up to everybody just so it does not throw you off the loop too badly. book 1.5 is in place after book two. but other than that so far so good.

Entertaining, but a bit too Spicy at times

POWER SYSTEM: The magic system’s interesting and I really liked the world building! The “Titans” they pilot are diverse and have established strengths and weaknesses.

WORLD: The world’s mysterious with citizens not fully knowing its history. The world’s given to the reader slowly so it never fells like an info dump.

PROTAGONIST: Locke is a pretty generic Isekai protagonist. This means he asks questions that help to learn more about the world and the power system. He usually reacts to cool fantasy stuff with excitement, but he doesn’t really show strong opinions on anything else.

THE SUPPORTING CAST: In the first book you’ll spend most of your time with Locke and three woman of the crew. Each woman has their own personalities and goals… but each one is also really horny for the protagonist. Their culture is much more sexually open so the protagonist finds himself hit on by almost every woman he meets.

SPICY: This book gets VERY Nsfw at parts. But I was pleasantly surprised that the characters discuss consent early on in the book. Its a small detail but it’s nice to see that everyone is having fun and consenting. Locke is also able to leave whenever he wants, so despite the fact that his co-workers keep hitting on him, I don’t feel like he’s coerced. Once an Nsfw scene starts its typically ends by the start of the next chapter. So they’re easy to skip if you’d like.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I enjoyed the book, but the sheer horniness of it was off putting at times (characters casually talk about the protagonist sexually all the time). The world building was my favourite part. Would recommend to fans of fantasy.
