Very Dark
I purchased this book based on liking the old Hammer horror films, expecting something similar here. I was mistaken. This is more similar to the old Night Gallery show. The films typically ended with good triumphant albeit sometimes at a cost. Here we have a half dozen stories of depressing tone and dripping with madness, obsession, murder, and most of all, hopelessness. Not my preferred storytelling style. If this is up your alley, then by all means, enjoy. But for those like me, this is just too dark.
Regarding the technical merits of the book, I had issue with the sound levels going frequently from quite loud to barely audible. This inability to stay at a reasonable and consistent level made the book nearly useless when listening while driving as one cannot constantly be fiddling with the volume while in traffic.

pretty good
I am new to audio dramas. this one was great. stories were good, but left the endings open. enough to use your imagination for what you just heard or read.

Great British Horror
I saw someone gave these only one star, I don't know why because if you love British horror you should love this. These are not for kids!! But are several stories from the supernatural to 70's slasher. I hope they put out another collection.

horrible collection! Hammer should be ashamed!
Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?
no. the stories were terrible and the narrators were unprofessional
Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?
never
How did the narrator detract from the book?
screaming one minute, whispering the next
What character would you cut from Hammer Chillers?
all of them
Any additional comments?
I am disgusted that Hammer would put their name on this collection of junk
