Historia
With Fred ready to give birth and the revelation that Mary is also pregnant, spirits are high in the community. For Morgan, however, it's just one more thing to worry about. His mom and dad are now settled in and getting to work, but the babies are coming, the milking barn needs to be built, and the power plant must be kept running. To make matters worse, they're now dealing with the US Army. Morgan has real concerns once he hears about the Army's plans and what they expect of the people of Lake County. After more than a year without the rule of law, are the people ready to return to it?

For whatever reason the language has gone in the gutter with cussing and “adult” stuff. I really don’t see the need. Sure can’t let the kids listen now. Reader was great as always. And except for the language, the story is good.

Historia
Earth is no longer the center of the universe. After the invention of the faster-than-light jump drive, humanity is rapidly establishing new colonies. But the vast distances of space mean that the old order of protection and interstellar law offered by Earth has ceased to exist. When a nearby world attacks, the new colony of Glenlyon turns to Robert Geary, a young former junior fleet officer, and Mele Darcy, a onetime enlisted marine.

Great!
Revisado: 07-09-17
Where does Vanguard rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Great start for a new story line. (Especially for the folks familiar with the Lost Fleet books) It's all here, character development, humor, romance, excitement and even a little science. I'm already looking forward to the next book!
Any additional comments?
Jack Campbell, new series, space story with a main character named Geary, come on, "Nuff Said"!

Still going strong!
Revisado: 07-09-17
Would you listen to Devil’s Due again? Why?
Sure, after twelve books, the story has become rather complex with people, places and things. I'm ready now to go back to the beginning and listen to the whole series again from start to finish to refresh the story in my mind. It's just that good!
Who was your favorite character and why?
How could you possibly pick a favorite with so many great characters to choose from?
What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Excellent with tone and accent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Anderson ranks up at the top of the list with the best like Jack Campbell and A. American when it comes to telling a story with detail and enthusiasm sprinkled with a little history, humor and romance.
Any additional comments?
I'm a great fan of good series and this is one of the best. Twelve books and still a good story line with excitement and humor in each chapter. The only drawback is the requirement to spend the first few chapters of each new book explaining to all the new readers how the story started, who the characters are etc. etc.... After 12 books, come on! It wastes so much time.....

OK, but not great.
Revisado: 07-09-17
What didn’t you like about Nathan Glondys’s performance?
Wow, this really hits home in showing how the narrator can make or break a book. Kevin Pierce is well known for being one of the best ever, and did the first book justice. However, this guy just doesn't have nearly the same ability, and it detracts to such a large degree it's just not much fun.

Great...Just a little slow getting started
Revisado: 01-15-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This guy has an insight not shown by other books of this kind. It is a little slow to take off, but it builds a very solid foundation for the rest of the series. There are also some good lessons about reasonable prepping that are interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book!

A Hallmark Story
Revisado: 12-12-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This is more of ladies love story than an adventure book
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending was ok for a very non realistic love story that just happened to be set in a dark and sad time.
Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?
The hero and his wife (also a hero) seemed to be great people, just living in some kind of fairy tail instead of a dire situation.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No
Any additional comments?
This might be great for the ladies in the world who would value a girls love story, but very disappointing to those looking for some realism in what the country might be like after a major disaster. People crying "please don't hurt me, I just want us all to be friends", I don't think so.....
