Good Twists and a Quick Listen - as usual

Frieda McFadden books always keep my interest. I’m always looking for books to listen to while I clean and do things I hate to do. This one didn’t disappoint! It took me over half the book to get used to the narrator. The last Frieda McFadden book I listened to was narrated by Leslie Howard and she is so good, it took me a long time to warm up to this narrator. I thought this narrator was great for the character of Dawn but not as strong for the other characters. Ultimately, you can’t go wrong if you just want an easy to listen to, fast paced book.

Another Can’t Put Down But The End????

Freda McFadden knows how to write riveting stories. This is another one. It’s great! Until the end. I won’t spoil it, but, come on….really? Just so off the rails...All in all, a great listen. Still worth a listen. I think she could have done much better with the ending. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil it but I was both happy and very disappointed with the end. You’ll have to judge for yourself. If you need to clean up or take your mind off something, she never disappoints. And the narrator is always great.

Interesting and Honest

I listened to both Tatum’s book and her father, Ryan’s, book. I loved both of them. Both are honest and real and raw. Their lives are fascinating. I’m sure each has their own perception of things but I appreciate that they put their stories down on paper to be shared. Very intriguing people and intriguing stories. Worth a listen for sure!

Very engrossing, fast listen - weak ending

I listened to this entire book in like three days. I was having a hard time finding something interesting to listen to - so many things were boring me. This book made me want to listen and keep listening. I did not like the ending. It kind-of goes in a weird direction but the first two-thirds of the book were riveting. Despite not liking the end, I couldn’t stop listening. I needed to know what was happening next. So, if you want something that will keep your attention, this is it. The ending is probably a personal preference. You won’t be bored, that’s for sure!!

Incredibly Interesting and Honest

What I really appreciate about this book is that Ryan puts his thoughts down in a very open and honest way. Of course, I raised an eyebrow at some of things he says about his children and a number of other narcissistic things he talks about but I appreciate that this is his point of view. He reveals a lot about his feelings and thoughts and puts it out there. I am not a fan, exactly, though I discovered he has been in so many movies I loved as a kid. And, while I started out thinking he is a rather unappealing jerk, as I listened to him, listened to his daughter’s book, and saw him on their reality show, I discovered that this man was a charming, charismatic force and still is, even in old age. His relationships with Tatum and Farrah are fascinating. Love him or hate him, this is a great listen!

Could not stop listening. This story is told in a fascinating, fast paced way. It is also told with empathy and compassion. My heart breaks for the victims and their families. I listened to this whole book in one day.

Didn't finish it.

I couldn't get through this book. I'm not sure why. I tried to listen but it just droned on and, eventually, I put it down for good. Other people have given it rave reviews but I want a fast-paced audio-book and this wasn't it.

Could not stop listening

I did not know who Bobbie Brown was when I bought this audiobook. I got it based on a review of some else who also liked Ready Player One. I listened to this book non-stop! She is brutally honest and tells it all. I didn't know who half the rockers were but I found myself googling people and learning about them. Great, fast listen. It's full of Hollywood gossip and heartbreak. Bobbie is a flawed character and she is honest about her short-comings. I think her honesty makes this book so intriguing. I loved this book and I love Bobbie after listening to it!

Very good!

I am very hard to please when it comes to audio books. So many of them bore me and I just can't finish them. With a bad book, I find myself daydreaming or lost in some other thought while the narrator prattles on. Not the case with this book. This is an intriguing story that held my attention throughout. I saw the movie and was hesitant to try the book but I had read they are not that similar. I found that I really didn't remember much about the movie and it did not affect my experience with the book. This is a very vivid, well written book that really pulls you into someone's world. Definitely worth a credit!

A bit out there but kept me listening

At this point, I've heard so many bad audiobooks, if one keeps me listening, I'm happy. Although the story is pretty out there and sometimes a bit stupid, Dean Koontz knows how to tell a story. I was entertained and this book held my attention the entire time. The narrator was great. Not the best Dean Koontz but good and I gave it four stars because I wanted to keep listening. A good, not great, paranormal story that was worth the credit.
