Historia
When Geo signs up for Family Camp, he envisions nature hikes, s’mores, and a chance to win over his recalcitrant new foster kids, Jayden and Lucy. He’s tried to become a dad for so long, and he hopes the three of them can be the family he’s always wanted. What he doesn’t anticipate is the prickly and gorgeous camp counselor who constantly comes to his rescue. Travis spends a week every year at Camp Evermore, the camp his adoptive parents own. He has one rule: Never, ever mess around with anyone at camp.

Sweet Romance
Revisado: 02-23-23
This was a sweet, low angst love story, with relatable characters that I fell in love with. I adored Gio and his foster kids. I just wanted to hug Jayden and Lucy! I thought the concerns of Travis, as a professional ball player, was handled well. This story is mostly about the characters and I was hooked.
Matthew Shaw is a new-to-me narrator and he did a superb job. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance, he even sang the camp song! I hope I hear more from him.

Solid Mystery/Suspense
Revisado: 02-20-23
Nicky James provides an interesting mystery with enough twists to hold my attention. Nova and Mercy were solid protagonists and I enjoyed their growing friendship moving into a relationship. I also liked that at times, they actually paused and thought about consequences even if they did forge ahead with investigating. I liked the MCs, although at times I did want to shake Nova and tell him to give his boy a hug! Having two teens in the mix amped up the tension especially at the end. Nick J Russo did a great job narrating, especially during the suspenseful parts. This book is well worth a listen, keeping my interest throughout.

Historia
When James learns that an uncle he hasn’t heard from in ages has left him something in his will, he figures that the least he can do is head down to Cornwall for a weekend to honor the old man’s parting wishes. He finds the family home filled with half-remembered guests and unwanted memories, but more troubling is that his uncle has tasked his heirs with uncovering the truth behind a woman’s disappearance 20 years earlier. Leo’s of the opinion that rich people aren’t to be trusted where wills are concerned. So he does what any sensible spy would do and infiltrates the party.

Classic-Style Mystery
Revisado: 02-02-23
Enjoyable mystery with fun characters. I especially liked the village setting and the "dotty" elderly characters that you just know are sharper than they seem. I would've liked more James and Leo but it ended well! Joel Leslie provided a great performance, especially Leo's dry tone and wry intonation. All-in-all, enjoyable.

No Comforting Touches
Revisado: 01-22-23
Each book in this series hits me in a different way... The idea of not being able to receive even the briefest of comfort in the smallest of touches just breaks my heart. And to find someone who can love you anyway, that helped mend my heart. Ireland and Raven were compelling characters and this story with its ups and downs, kept me completely engaged. As always, Adam Gold offers a top-notch performance. The combination of Adam Gold and Nicky James is magic.

More Max & Royce Please
Revisado: 01-13-23
This was a really good story. With some friction between Max and Royce, we see their relationship grow even if painfully sometimes. I felt equal parts exasperated and protective of Max. His struggles to understand some social interactions and Royce's honest and understandable reactions created a situation that was quite suspenseful. I was thoroughly engaged in the story. Matt Haynes' narration added to my enjoyment and he does well with his character voices. I hope we get book 4 soon!

A Favorite Series
Revisado: 01-04-23
This series just keeps getting better and better. Aslan and Quaid are still learning how to be a couple but I love how when one struggles, the other steps up. This case in particular is hard on Quaid and my heart hurt for him. There were times that Quaid seemed so alone and Aslan always made sure he was a there to bolster Quaid through the difficult times. The mystery in this book is intriguing and wraps up an important background story in a unique way. I loved how Nicky James revealed the past mystery through the present case. Nick J Russo did an outstanding job in this audio, especially in the both the broken and the tender moments. He elevated the emotional tone while adding to the suspense.
If you're new to the series, listen to the two previous books first, to get the most impact out of this book. You won't regret it, as this whole series is excellent.

Historia
Hello, there! I’m Octavius Evander. And this is the beginning of my story—well…sort of. It’s not the very beginning. As a vampire, that story would be way too long to write down—think, before the Romans. Rather, this story is about how I met the love of my unlife. Okay, it will be mostly about the cool and fancy detective agency I opened and solving mysteries, but also a little about love too.

So Entertaining!
Revisado: 12-01-22
This was a new-to-me author and narrator and I'm looking forward to more from both! I really liked this low-angst paranormal story. The characters were fun, sometimes sassy, sometimes silly and all-around enjoyable. The plot had a decent spooky mystery, although to me it isn't really the main driver of the story... the characters are (both main and secondary). Octavius in particular left me smiling in just about every scene. The narrator did an excellent job voicing the characters and keeping the pace of the story engaging. The bat voice made me laugh out loud. Overall, I'm putting this one in my "to listen to again" pile. I hope we get more audios from this author/narrator combo.

Fun Christmas Treat
Revisado: 11-29-22
I loved catching up with the guys from this series. A lighthearted, enjoyable listen, this book left me smiling and happy. Seeing where each of the characters/couples are now was fun. This is not a stand-alone book and is best enjoyed after listening to the earlier books. But since this series is so good, and these characters so engaging, listening to the other books first is a treat. Adam Gold is an excellent narrator, especially when considering the large cast of characters to voice. A very happy way to start the holiday season!

Really Good
Revisado: 11-11-22
This was an excellent story but at times was really hard. Rory's experiences with bullying was heartbreaking and I just wanted to fold him in a protective hug. And having Aiden, whose own experiences gave him such empathy, come along to draw him out made my heart happy. Adam Gold is a fantastic narrator and he really brings these characters to life.

Maxwell Thornton isn’t a people person, but that never mattered to him because he’d lived for his job. After losing a patient during an operation, he’s afraid to pick up the scalpel again. He resigns his position in the city and takes a job as sole GP in the isolated town of Rainy Dale, Texas, population 1,001. Rainy Dale is populated with eccentrics who test his patience and seem to think he’s not only there to treat their illnesses, but that he’s also there to be their therapist. When one of his most annoying patients ends up dead in his pool, he has some explaining to do.

Good Series Starter
Revisado: 11-11-22
This was a solid start to the series. Max is grumpy and a bit detached at the beginning but watching him unbend with Royce kept me engaged in the story. There was a good mystery to solve and I like how it unfolded. Poor Max didn't have the easiest first few months in town (!) but knowing he's starting to settle in made me want to pick up book 2. The narrator does well, with distinct character voices and I liked how he performed Max's internal monologues.
