Listed as #6 in the excellent "Murderbot" series, but really #5 in chronological order. This is another Novella featuring the runaway Security Unit android. He is working as a Security specialist for the leader of Preservation Station, a space station. An unknown body has been found in a little used hallway, obviously murdered but mysteriously disinfected and clean. Sec Unit (as most people refer to him) is worried this might be related to the company goons who previously tried to kidnap and murder his employer. The truth is much more complicated. Lots of false clues, sarcasm, and high tech detective work. Excellent narration by Kevin Free, who really has this character perfect.

Impressively thought-out and exciting SF novel about an android security unit who has achieved independence from its programming. It's grumpy, sarcastic, hates most humans, and has learned about human culture from bad fictional space adventures. It has a strong sense of responibility, even as it hates that sense. Here it and the humans it protects are kidnapped and sent through a wormhole by the kidnappers -- humans who appear to be using unknown alien technology.

Wells throws one complication after another, so you can barely keep up. Very compelling and clever. Great reading by Kevin Free, exactly the right tone for the main character.

As usual with Winchester, a thoughtful and broad look at a subject. This book is about the meaning of facts, knowledge, and wisdom, and how one leads to another. Lots of interesting history, from the schools of ancient Babylon to artificial intelligence and whether or not it will lead to a reduction in human intelligence. But of course, also as usual with Winchester, the story is told by looking at the lives of extraordinary people throughout history.

Still very funny, but deeper. Who will be in charge when a murderer stalks Ankh-Morpork? We learn much about the Assassins, Beggars, and Fools Guilds. The Night Watch becomes the center, with new recruits of various species, Captain Vimes faces his approaching wedding, and a new murderous weapon is invented. in some ways this is a major step forward for the series, which was already great. A bit of a quibble on the narration -- The narrator has trouble when characters are supposed to be inarticulate, making them unintelligible instead. Otherwise, good.

This a book created from interviews with Dolly. The audio book is composed of the actual interviews not from a rereading of the book. so the audio preserves her real voice and emotions. it is arranged by using brief son clips, from which Dolly tells her story, how she wrote her songs, and what it all means to her. I am not a country fan, so I was unfamiliar with most of the songs. But I admire her greatly as a caring human being, so this was very Interesting to me. It's all Dolly.

Wow. I never liked the Iliad as well as the Oddysey. Just a big war. But Miller brings out the personalities and the human tragedy by narrowing down to the point of view of Patroclus, the companion and lover of Achilles. We see them meet as young boys, train with the centaur teacher, Chiron, fall in love, and go together to the Trojan War. It's a revelation.

Funny examination of the influence of religion on government. At the same time, maybe Pratchett's deepest book. Good narration by Andy Serkis, but occasional confusion between voices. Lots of lessons for religious people, especially that people start off believing in gods, but then there are priests and rules and buildings and songs, and people end up believing in the structure.

In this third book, Novic turns the story upside down, and we find out answers to questions we didn't even know we had. An enclave war is threatened, and Orion's parents look to be right in the middle of it. El must figure out how to rescue - or kill - Orion, who is still trapped in the Scholomance. We learn how enclaves were built, where the mals really come from, what powers El and Orion really have, and why El has that terrible curse hanging over her head. Great tension, lots of places to go, "Oh, that changes everything." Quite satisfying. Excellent narration. Hard to stop listening.

Clever, wise, insightful, and – as always -- very funny Pratchett comic fantasy novel. This one uses his three witches (Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat Garlick) to take on and turn upside down fairy tales and legends from Dracula to Cinderella. Granny discovers an old enemy using fairy tales to take over the city of Genua. This new 2022 audio version is terrific. Indira Varma has a wide variety of amazing voices. You would swear it was a full cast. She is assisted by Peter Serafinowicz as "DEATH" and Bill Nighy reading the footnotes; but Varma is the headliner.

Exciting and pulled together well

Many plot threads all over the place and you can't imagine how she can work them out. It becomes more of an epic than previous books, but the author pulls everything together masterfully. It could be seen as a conclusion to the series, but Bardugo leaves herself doors for further adventures. The audio book is very well done.
