A fascinating look at an often overlooked powerful tool.
Revisado: 12-28-24
I found this book to be absolutely wonderful.
Some of the reasons include:
- The narrator is exceptional-10/10!
-Even when I was familiar with the subjects covered, I received a lot of extra details because the book was written from the point of view of how the individual or group used notebooks;
- I learned interesting tidbits, like when lined notebooks were first patented; and
- I learned that even in today’s electronic world, the notebook still plays an important role.
As an inventor, my stacks of notebooks are a testament to that last bulleted item!

A Timeless Classic with Endless Value!
Revisado: 12-02-24
I found Endless Referrals to be a masterpiece that covers selling by explaining human psychology in ways that I instinctively knew in many cases, but I haven’t always put the concepts into practice very well.
And I particularly appreciate the personal stories and inspirations shared by the author, from his Dad to many others, including Abraham Lincoln and Calvin Coolidge.
I also think that the narration is very well done. The narrator’s voice is very clear, and it had just enough excitement and positive spirit to keep me listening.
I feel fortunate to be connected to Bob Burg on social media, and continue to learn valuable lessons from him and the people who he mentions in this book, as well as in his online posts.

A Truly Outstanding Resource
Revisado: 09-03-24
I thoroughly enjoyed this Audible course for many reasons. Here are just a few:
The enthusiasm of the author/presenter is present throughout the course, and is wonderful.
Although I knew the stories behind many of the inventors and inventions, the author shared tiny details, like the number of failures, a retailer had before they achieved success, which was different from many other works I’ve read in the past.
This was originally a video presentation, and even though I couldn’t see the demonstrations, the author described what he was doing quite well, and it was easy for me to hop over to YouTube in order to get more background on what he was discussing.
I highly recommend this course to anyone, and especially high school and college students.

A deeply impactful book
Revisado: 08-30-24
This book caused me to tear up multiple times. The many impactful messages contained within from Alex (the author), and what it took for him to reach the people he interviewed, will stay with me for a long time.
I particularly enjoyed the minute details that Alex shared related to how he researched many different people and topics, as well as how he carefully crafted emails to secure interviews.
And the quotes that he shared from his distinguished interview subjects, including Maya Angelou, Larry King and Quincy Jones are pure gold.

Living Trusts for Everyone is the best resource for setting up a living trust. Explaining in specific terms what benefits a trust will have, Ronald Farrington Sharp gives the tools necessary to set up a loved one's trust with no lawyers and no expense. Wills benefit lawyers. Trusts benefit the clients. Too often lawyers sell wills to clients only to sit back and wait to sell their probate services to their clients' heirs. Ronald Farrington Sharp describes the best way to handle modern estate planning.

Historia
Thanks to environmental pollutants, iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic. Everybody knows pollutants cause cancer. What they don't know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick, fat, and stupid. Iodized salt - supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency - is actually a nutritional scam that provides a false sense of security. The Iodine Crisis explains how we became so deficient, then shows the time-tested solution to reversing many conditions.

In Camera Man, film critic Dana Stevens pulls the lens out from Keaton’s life and work to look at concurrent developments in entertainment, journalism, law, technology, the political and social status of women, and the popular understanding of addiction. With erudition and sparkling humor, Stevens hopscotches among disciplines to bring us up to the present day, when Keaton’s breathtaking (and sometimes life-threatening) stunts remain more popular than ever as they circulate on the internet in the form of viral gifs

A very informative look at Buster Keaton and other legends
Revisado: 06-23-24
I really enjoyed this book and the narration by the author, who spoke clearly and with an obvious interest in the subject matter.
I didn’t know much about Buster Keaton, so this book was very informative, and I took a few detours to YouTube to watch some of the shorts and movies that were mentioned.
I found Mr. Keaton’s interest in television to be particularly interesting.
I recommend this book for any fan of old Hollywood, Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton.

Historia
Before the discovery of insulin, diabetes was treated almost exclusively through diet, from subsistence on meat, to reliance on fats, to repeated fasting and near-starvation regimens. After two centuries of conflicting medical advice, most authorities today believe that those with diabetes can have the same dietary freedom enjoyed by the rest of us, leaving the job of controlling their disease to insulin therapy and other blood-sugar-lowering medications.

As someone who has seen the effects of diabetes on multiple family members, I believe this book should be required reading for any human who cares about their health or the health of their patients or family members.
I also ended up with a much deeper understanding of Type 1 vs. Type 2 diabetes by reading this book.
Thank you Mr. Taubes!

Historia
Heart disease is the number-one killer. However, traditional heart disease protocols - with their emphasis on lowering cholesterol - have it all wrong. Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease.

I am always interested in learning about health from experts in their field. The two authors of this book have certainly done a lot of research, and I appreciate their straightforward explanations of rather complex topics. I hope that all MD’s, nurses and medical students add this to their libraries.
