Great outline on applying stoicism

The course was good. It was great at giving practical methods to implement Stoic Virtue and practices in your life.

I did think though, his biases were very evident especially in his explanation of the theory and it’s relationship to God(s) and religion and his stating that while Christianity was heavily influenced by Stoicism but they are not compatible even though history says otherwise. I just thought it distracted from the book whether you follow a religion or not.

His take on economics is very apparent and it detracts from the content. He would use economic examples but it was apprenticed he has total lack of understanding of economic knowledge and this lack of economic understanding is cringe worthy at times and took away from the lesson.

He uses great examples of how people apply stoicism but then discounts others who apply it because they may be sports coaches, athletes, and billionaires. I may agree with him in some instances but it made me question why the good examples were any different than the bad ones.

Over all this is a great course to understand the fundamentals of Stoicism and how to apply it to your life. I will continue to read/listen to other works by the author.

Good framework weak implementation

The book started out with much promise and valid points. The examples of “how tos” were sophomoric in my opinion. The author does have a great framework but the half baked is implementation needs more thought.

Difficult to listen to

It is impossible to follow the reader making it difficult to understand. I had to go get another version with a different narrator to listen to it.

not one of his better books

narrator was great. the story was forced. I really like the authors writing and many of the other books in the series but this one was weak with a plot that seemed forced and hard to follow.

not the best book in the series but good

had the feeling of a middle book but it gives one the story of how or why things were the way things were with the protagonists in earlier books and books to follow.

very good book with a good plot line. it really sheds a lot of light on imaging that further develops the whole world.

Good Series

While it is a great book and a fresh take on the created world as the author is known to do, I do not find it as good as the first three books. that said it is still enjoyable and seeing the ties to the first three books only enhances the story.

great last book of a trilogy

the ending was good and keeps one engaged. I would recommend the series to anyone.

great second book

This was a great middle book in a series. it advanced the story, built the plot and showed progress to the story. it wasn't the normal second book that leaves one feeling that it was written to just to set up the end of the story.
