A voice from the grave

This story felt like Michael Crichton's earlier works. A posthumous publishing of an author's unfinished work isn't always able to keep true to the spirit of the writer. "Eruption," while less a cautionary tale than most of Crichton stories, was a page-turner. The narration was very well done, and evokes the cadence and vibe of the islands. 10/10 recommend!

An entertaining story to provide thought!

Everything about this story deserves an A. The storyline is cohesive. The characters are relatable. The most important feature of this story to me is the way it made me formulate some disaster plans. I've talked about ” One Second" with friends and family with much less success than the book had with me. Guess I'll be gifting copies to them instead.

Practicality meets Passion

The simple Truths communicated here are heartening & powerful. Reminds me of Lewis's works. The invitation to dive into the deep end of relationship with the Creator is so enticingly delivered throughout this short book. My only complaint is that I cannot take voluming notes in the margins of an audio book. I had to buy the hard copy version as well. It's totally worth a second & third read!

I have been reading (and re-reading) this series since 1993. The thought of it ending this way is not acceptable to me. I await the next installment eagerly. Btw, I have learned almost as much history through these stories as I did in High School & Uni.
