Historia
Lament is how we bring our sorrow to God - but it is a neglected dimension of the Christian life for many Christians today. We need to recover the practice of honest spiritual struggle that gives us permission to vocalize our pain and wrestle with our sorrow. Lament avoids trite answers and quick solutions, progressively moving us toward deeper worship and trust.

Necessary for Life
Revisado: 08-09-24
I love that this book was so focused on teaching the biblical way to lament. The author demonstrated through multiple passages and personal stories that our pain is legitimate, and that we can complain to God in a way that strengthens our faith in his character, sovereignty, and love for us. This book is essential to anyone living the Christian life. Highly recommend.

Historia
Persuasion, Jane Austen's last novel, is a tale of love and marriage told with irony and insight. Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth have met and seperated years before. Their reunion, after the passage or irrecoverable years of their youth, forces a recognition of the false values that drove them apart.

Perfect Narration!

I’ve listened to several versions of Persuasion and this one is my favorite! Having the unabridged version read so beautifully and with feeling captures the essence of the book and Anne Elliot perfectly.

Historia
This book helps to explain why God sometimes bears long with his elect. It articulates God's purpose in the wait, expounds on how justice involves both restoration and restitution, and ignites faith to believe God to avenge us of our adversary. Unrelenting Prayer fuels our confidence that God will answer our prayer, which empowers us to pray without ceasing. Take a tender look at the issues of depression, reproach, and why God sometimes waits so long to answer our prayers. When justice comes speedily, you’ll receive not only restoration but also seven-fold restitution.

Loved every minute!
Revisado: 08-22-23
In this book, Bob walks through the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18. Through his analysis combined with stories from the Bible, history, and his own life, he lends strength and faith to all his listeners. Highly recommend to anyone who is waiting on God and finding that their faith is starting to wane.

Historia
Did you enter adulthood thinking marriage would find you, only to end up at a second-cousin's wedding, dodging yet another bouquet the night before you turned 30? Maybe you've started wondering if this the best the single life has to offer. Joy Beth Smith says it's not - that single life doesn't have to leave you constantly waiting for real life to begin. If you let go of the tired lies weighing you down, you can turn toward truth.

Good ideas
Revisado: 08-16-18
Joy Beth truly understands the plight of a Christian single woman. She embraces the taboo and isn’t afraid of making her readers uncomfortable in order to edify them. For the most part, I agreed with her takeaways, but I had a couple of confused head-tilts along the way. This book helps singles realize they’re not alone in their journey or wrong to be on it, and I believe that women will appreciate the honesty, wisdom, and vulnerability found in this book.
