This is only my second book by this author, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Tylor Kelley's performance was masterful, beautiful and moving. I loved the characters and their passion, as well as the mystique and intrigue the author wove into this enjoyable story.

This is the second book in The Highlander Chronicles and would be better enjoyed if listened to in the correct order. However, it can still be listened to as a standalone story, but be warned: It does end in a cliffhanger. The story tells how Mason is trying to find his missing brother and how he meets Raven, a witch who is somehow involved in his disappearance. Together, they must face action, drama, suspense, and interesting supernatural creatures.

Fans of great Scottish heroes will love this addition to the series. I am looking forward to listening to the third book in this enjoyable series as soon as it becomes available.

I really enjoyed this first book in The Royal Spares series, the characters are well-drawn and the world-building is very well done as always. The story tells how Princess Aurelia arrived at Emperor Tarquin’s Court to fulfil an arranged marriage with Marclinus his son and heir. Only to discover that she has to compete to win this "honour" against twelve other court ladies. There is to be a series of "Trials" with the lady who is last leaving the competition but that is not all, she will also lose her life.

At the Court, she makes the acquaintance of four princes Raul, Bastian, Lorenzo and Neven the Emperor's foster sons and learns that they are second sons sent to stay in his palace to stop their countries from rebelling and have been there since they were only seven years old. Each had unique characteristics and different personalities and at first, they clashed with Aurelia whenever they could believing she wanted the throne for selfish reasons.

Each character has their own unique gifts, Aurelia's is healing but the true extent of the gifts granted to the princes is slowly revealed as the story progresses. Aurelia is calm and composed as she faces each trial, determined to make it through for the sake of her country and people although as she and the princes got to know each other I did like seeing her being herself with no guards up when she was with them.

I love the slow build-up between Aurelia and the three of the princes, Neven being much younger is still an unknown quantity as is his gift!

I love the way Eva builds a story, adding layers to the characters the more we get to know them and look forward to getting a bit more backstory for Aurelia in the next book. The cliffhanger ending of the book was a shock and caught me totally by surprise it was so very unexpected. I can't wait to see what happens next and how the guys react to it.

The narration of the story is by Meg Sylvan and Aaron Shedlock each of them gives a wonderful performance and brings all the characters to life.

The stories are all exciting and well-written and narrated beautifully by Ri Paige who does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life.

Bound By Air: The Wardens of Terra Book 1
The story is exciting, fast-paced intensely emotional and flows well and has lots of thrilling suspenseful moments that had my heart pounding with my adrenaline pumping. I thought of the idea of an elite force of Zodiac shifters who is a guardian of Terra. The story tells how Andrea having inherited a home finds herself trapped in the attic by an evil book and Troy. They met when he heard Andrea’s cry for help, entered her home and discovered that they were true mates.

Star Kissed: The Wardens of Terra 2
This is Luis and Isabella's story, it's a second chance fated mates' romance both characters are very likeable, the story is short and fast-paced. Their joint history ties them together he had left her and denied their connection but when they meet again some years later their chemistry is palpable with lots of sparks flying. Their road to their HEA is full of chemistry, romance, action, chemistry and love.

Waterlocked: The Wardens of Terra 3
This is Phoebe and Nsthan's story, she's a white witch while Nathan is a sea dragon. They are fated mates, who each have half of the same soul. As their story starts they aren't aware that they're fated mates. He has been left alone for a thousand years and wants to keep things that way, while she wants to convince him to return as a Warden of Terra.

I fell in love with them they are both strong characters who have yet to learn what’s important.

Moon Kissed: The Wardens of Terra 4
Rex is a grumpy growly bear shifter who has vowed to never find a mate because he doesn't like how his fellow wardens have behaved since they found theirs. But once he meets Candra, a human everything changes. He never thought to meet anyone and become mated all in one night, but that's what happened.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s the second book in the Davenport series and tells Quentin and Vivian’s story.

The characters are well drawn and likable and brought to life by Shane East and Stella Hunter who do an incredible job of bringing every emotion to the fore. The side characters are interesting too and it was fun meeting again the characters from the first book in the series.

I’m looking forward to listening to the next story in this very enjoyable series

It’s an age gap marriage of convenience love story the chemistry shared between Quentin and Vivian is off the charts as Quinton a.k.a. Q introduces Vivian to the BDSM lifestyle once they are married.

This is an excellent second chance story and a great addition to the Astoria Royals series, I read the ebook first and loved it but having listened to the superb audio version I loved it even more if that's possible. The story was lifted to an even higher level by the wonderful narration of: Lexi Evans, Logan Anare, Tyler Griffin and Troy Duran—such a great team of talented people.

In this book, Riordan and Priscilla meet again and are forced to deal with their painful past. Since their last meeting, both have worked hard at trying to forget their pain. But when they meet again they are forced to deal with their current circumstances and see where it leads.

I loved being a fly on the wall to all their steamy escapades, their chemistry was palpable and the sex was hot. Their connection is strong but will it be enough?

Do be aware that there are many potentially triggering situations in their story.

Astin and Blakely

Revisado: 01-06-25

The Forever Rule is an excellent start to the Cage Family series. It begins with a prelude, "Before I Knew,” which introduces us to Ashton Cage and Blakely's story. Then, it dives straight into The Forever Rule and introduces us to the rest of the complex Cage family, a family about to discover how many lies their parents have told and the secrets they have kept.

This story concentrates on Aston, the new head of the family business as the eldest Cage sibling, and Blakely the woman who captures his heart. They met when she was inadvertently included in a group chat between the brothers. After she removes herself from the group chat Astin and Blakely continue to text each other their messages sparking a connection between them which leads to a face-to-face meeting for coffee. They agree to meet again in two weeks but attend the same Gala that weekend. They share one dance and the depth of Aston's growing feelings for her have him second-guessing if their chemistry is real or if he is more like his father than he thought. He leaves the Gala early when he receives a call from his mother informing him that his father is dead.

At the reading of the Will, he and his siblings discover that his father had been leading a double life and that his father had a secret family that none of the children from either family knew about although both mothers were fully aware. The Will stipulates that the two sets of siblings must have monthly dinners for three years if they wish to keep their inheritance. There’s tension on both sides, as all the siblings from both families try to work through what they have learned. Every one of them bears the scars of their father’s actions and realises that their respective mothers knew everything.

At the Gala when Blakely dances with Astin, she feels this could be the start of something special but then Aston doesn’t call, doesn’t text, just ghosts her. Blakely's boss, jealous of the Cage brothers fires her for sharing that dance with Astin saying she has shared company information with his rivals. After three months of being out of a job and having doors closed in her face, she applies to work for one of the Cage Companies and she and Astin meet again.

Astin and Blakely’s unwavering attraction to each other shines through, despite the challenges they face, the reappearance of Aston’s ex, and the complicated family drama all make for a sometimes heart-wrenching rollercoaster ride. Blakely's strength and determination shine through as she helps Aston face his fears and accept that he's nothing like his father.

This is a fantastic story full of romance, family conflict, and deeply emotional themes, peopled by wonderful characters who feel real and relatable. The Forever Rule is a wonderful introduction to what I am sure will be another unforgettable series.

The narration by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder is wonderful both of them do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. Jason’s interpretation of Astin was perfect bringing Astin's honesty, strength, vulnerability and sexiness to the fore. Emma is perfect as Blakely, her narration shows us just how genuine, sweet and strong Blakely is. Together they were a perfect choice to bring Astin and Blakely's story to life.

Stella and Rake

Revisado: 12-15-24

This is a series that if you've missed the earlier books doesn't matter as each of the books is a total standalone so sit back and enjoy as you travel with Stalla to her new life with Rake on the planet Hyrrokin.

Stella is a strong rebellious woman who teaches school and fights for justice while living in a backward community on New Earth. When she discovers corruption at a high level she is framed for a crime and finds herself signed up as a mail-order bride without her knowledge or consent, The town leaders used her supposed crime and the fact that she's pregnant and single to do this.

When she lands on Hyrrokin she gets the first sight of Rake her soon-to-be husband and tells him what has happened and why she is there. Rake is a fair male and explains that she has one month to decide if she will become his "Bound" otherwise she will be returned to New Earth. Rake wants her to stay and to keep her and the baby she carries as his own so he asks her to give him that month so she can see what her life would be like and so he can hopefully get her to agree to stay with him.

She took the whole month, but she decided that they would "walk to the courthouse" and commit to each other. Her life on Hyrrokin is all she could have hoped for and she and Rake become a real couple. Her baby is due to be born during the planet's rainy season which means she and Rake will be alone and it will be down to him to deliver their child.

After the rainy season is over there is a large gathering to introduce their baby to their friends and family during which representatives of the Town Council who sent her to Hyrrokin arrive and try to get her to return to New Earth with them but she gives them short shrift.

The narration is well done by Neva Navarre and Patrick Zeller, both of whom make this an enjoyable listen.

Having enjoyed the earlier books, I was eager to listen to this eighth one. However, I admit I did wonder if the standard could be as high with this one. I need not have worried; it was, and I found myself invested in this story as well as the series.

This is a well-written, fun listen. It was easy to be drawn into, and I soon became immersed in the world the authors had created. Having read the ebook some time ago I have to say that I enjoyed this audio version much more, the narration by Katie Hagaman is excellent and made this enjoyable instalment even better.

I would urge any new readers to start this series at the beginning to better enjoy it, you will not be disappointed.

Revisado: 12-06-24

Kieran and Isabella's story is one I didn't want to stop listening to. We first met Kieran in the first book of this wonderfully written series, Sinful Vows when Ewan planned to find him a wife but fell in love with her himself.

In this book, Kieran takes finding a wife into his own hands when he offers the Italian Don money for the hand of his daughter Isabella. Money Kieran hopes he will use to fund a war between the Italian and Russian factions who rule their parts of Astoria which has been divided into three with Kieran running the Irish.

Kieran may have gone into this marriage intending it to be purely a business arrangement to give him an heir and to give him overall control of Astoria but he had yet to get to know Isabella aka Izzy.

Izzy is much younger than Kieran, but she is strong and has plans and ambitions of her own and becoming a mother before she completes her degree is not one of them. Seeing them come together and learn the art of compromise was fun.

Their chemistry is palpable and very, very hot but will chemistry be enough to break down Kieran's walls around his heart? The storyline features action, betrayal, lies and deceit as well as romance. The book can be listened to as a stand-alone but I would urge you to listen to these books in the correct order to fully understand and enjoy how each of the characters who appear in all the books grow and develop.

The narration of this book is wonderfully performed in Duet by Lexi Evans and Tyler Griffin, they become Kieran and Isabella. I read the eBook when it was first released but the performance of these two talented actors lifted this enjoyable story to an even higher level. Tyler Griffin's Irish brogue was very well done.

I can't wait for Riordan's story to be available in audio!

Kingston and Claire

If you are a follower of Carrie Ann you will already have met both Kingston and Claire in earlier books in this series but if you've missed the earlier books don't worry the story is written in such a way you will still find yourself emersed in it and unable to stop reading or listening (whichever is your choice) to this highly emotional story.

Kingston and Claire met when they were out hiking but because their respective friends paired off, they never pursued anything more than friendship, despite both of them being very attracted to the other. Now her best friends are part of the Mongomery Clan and they have no way of avoiding each other.

Reluctantly Claire agrees to attend a holiday weekend at the Mongomery cabin, but a blizzard hits and the roads are closed and she and Kingston find themselves isolated in the cosy cabin overnight! They talk to each other for the first time about their feelings which leads to them spending One Night together.

Their story is very moving and at times almost broke me but despite everything their love for each other deepens and shines through in this spicy yet sweet, page-turner of a romance. Although the road to their HEA is far from smooth it's a journey I'm glad I was able to share.

I'm not going to give spoilers but what I will say is this is a story I know I will listen to again and again. The narration is expertly performed by Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton who bring out and make the listener feel every nuance and feeling the characters experience on their way to each other.
