Historia
As Adolf Hitler and the Nazis seduced a nation, bullied a continent, and attempted to exterminate the Jews of Europe, a small number of dissidents and saboteurs worked to dismantle the Third Reich from the inside. One of these was Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pastor and author. In this New York Times bestselling biography, Eric Metaxas takes both strands of Bonhoeffer's life—the theologian and the spy—and draws them together to tell a searing story of incredible moral courage in the face of monstrous evil.

Beautifully complicated
Revisado: 09-09-24
In addition to a narrator that enhances—as opposed to distracts—from the text, I appreciated the fullness of this biography. Well-researched and told with an honor of the complexity of the times and of the man — I will happily return to this work in the future.

Historia
Fans fell in love with Eliza Hamilton - Alexander Hamilton’s devoted wife - in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s phenomenal musical Hamilton. But they don’t know her full story. A strong pioneer woman, a loving sister, a caring mother, and, in her later years, a generous philanthropist, Eliza had many sides - and this fascinating biography brings her multifaceted personality to vivid life.

Well researched and well told
Revisado: 08-27-23
Be sure to listen all the way to the end and hear Mezzeo’s struggle with and process of making sense of what history has left behind for us regarding the Hamilton. The book was a welcome corrective to the story I had gathered from the wonderful musical. As always, life is more complex than a play or even a book of any length could portray. LaVoy’s narration was an easy and clear listen. I will read more from this author and hope to hear more narrations from LaVoy.

Great practical applications
Revisado: 07-26-22
I enjoyed this book for its practicality, he gave examples and has resources. This is a great book for anyone who wants to start forming good habits. Like any book there are some things that i would have changed there is a lot of repetition and it can get redundant and some things I personally disagree with but overall this book is worth a listen and has some great ideas to share

The short stories were bridged well by the author and read well by the narrator.
