Nicholas Ralph is an amazing voice actor. All the wonderful characters in the Herriot books come fully to life with their own unique voice. Extremely enjoyable.

What a Treat!
Revisado: 06-24-22
I wanted a break from the serious scientific stuff I usually read. I wanted to listen to a good story about something worthwhile. This story about a lonely closeted postman in a small British town is filled with great characters and a wonderful unexpected plot. It's labeled LBTGQ+, and "Romance" but in my opinion this wonderful book is far more than any label. Anyone who wants to hear a good story beautifully read, as usual, by Simon Vance, this is for you. If I had teenagers around I would want them to read it. If I were still teaching, I would read it to my class - probably get fired, but so what. The entire book is about love, not sex. Couldn't turn by headset off! (I'm a 77 year old straight white lady by the way, and am so glad things have changed. I was there when you didn't even mention this topic)

Historia
It’s easy to be yourself when who and what you are is in vogue. But growing up Black and gay in America has never been easy. Before Billy Porter was slaying red carpets and giving an iconic performance in the celebrated TV show Pose; before he was the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway’s Kinky Boots; and before he was an acclaimed recording artist, actor, playwright, and all-around diva, Porter was a young boy who didn’t fit in.

You must LISTEN to Billy!
Revisado: 12-19-21
I cannot imagine just reading this book - you must listen to Billy Porter perform it. He doesn't just read his powerful, difficult, arduous, and inspiring life story - he is an amazing actor/narrator. I have not seen him in a musical and have never watched his movies or TV shows, but I was aware of who he was, and wanted to hear his story. I have never listened to a better written or more powerfully performed audiobook autobiography. (I have over 800 audio books in my library.). They should not even make a printed version available - Billy needs to tell you his story himself.
I am a 76 year-old white lady who is so happy that the world is finally ready for Billy Porter!

Historia
In September 2016, a woman in Nevada became the first known case in the US of a person who died of an infection resistant to every antibiotic available. Her death is the worst nightmare of infectious disease doctors and public health professionals. While bacteria live within us and are essential for our health, some strains can kill us. As bacteria continue to mutate, becoming increasingly resistant to known antibiotics, we are likely to face a public health crisis of unimaginable proportions.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 09-23-21
This book may have been good, but I couldn’t listen to it. The narrators voice was grating on the nerves, and made the book unlistenable. I have over 800 books in my audible library, and this is the first one I could not listen to due to the poor narration. Very sad.

Revisado: 04-18-21
I am glad I changed my mind. This is one of the funniest books I’ve ever listened to. I didn’t think I’d never thought I like John Boener. He is a self admitted asshole, But an honest politician and very entertaining writer. It’s good to listen to someone you didn’t think you agreed with. He is an honest and honorable man with a great sense of humor.Highly recommended no matter what political identity and you have.

The narrator was amazing! his enthusiasm and great accents really added a lot to the book. If you like adventure travel, Cats, or just a good story this is the book for you! What is my baby girl

By all appearances, Frank and Maggie share a happy, loving marriage. But for the past six months, they have not spoken. Not a sentence, not a single word. Maggie isn’t sure what, exactly, provoked Frank’s silence, though she has a few ideas. Day after day, they have eaten meals together and slept in the same bed in an increasingly uncomfortable silence that has become, for Maggie, deafening.

Waste of time
Revisado: 10-03-20
This book started out well. The narrator(s) were good and the characters were interesting, so I kept on listening. There were two secrets. When revealed at the end, I was so disappointed that I was sorry I wasted my time.

Not quite finished?
Revisado: 07-20-20
This was a fascinating book written by and read by president (I can’t believe he’s president) Trump’s niece, Mary Trump. most of the book is very interesting and seems quite factual and well-researched. Mary Trump is an excellent narrator as well. I was left with the feeling that the book was not quite finished and some things have been left out in the rush to publish. I hope she writes another one soon.

Cheese puffs. Coffee. Sunscreen. Vapes. George Zaidan reveals what will kill you, what won’t, and why - explained with high-octane hilarity, hysterical hijinks, and other things that don’t begin with the letter H. Ingredients offers the perspective of a chemist on the stuff we eat, drink, inhale, and smear on ourselves. Apart from the burning question of whether you should eat that Cheeto, Zaidan explores a range of topics.

Irreverent, seriously funny serious science book
Revisado: 06-05-20
You can listen to this book just for fun, whether or not you care about the ingredients you put in you or on you. George Zaidan is an entertaining narrator with a droll delivery of a science book with an attitude. I am looking forward to reading all his future books whatever their topic. He could write a great book on tree bark or moss if he wanted to.
