I read this before deciding whether it would be a good fit for my son, who is fast approaching the teen years. I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to sound too cheesy, or be unrelatable. I'm happy to say that it wasn't either. I think the stories used to help make the points real are really helpful, and they seem generic enough that he can apply them to dealing with his own social pressures as they continue to mount over the next few years. I also appreciated that there was a lot of opportunity for reflection..."how would this make you feel", or "how do you think this could have been handled".

This is a really useful set of affirmations, and I really enjoyed the timing in between affirmations as I think it provides plenty of time to think in between your messages to yourself. Additionally, I appreciate that there are affirmations included for when you slip up and need to get back on track. It's a good companion for your journey and I enjoyed using it for 20 min bursts during meditation and quiet times.

This book was really engaging. I've always thought of myself as an overthinker but rarely thought about ways in which my environment or activities might be impacting that process. What I liked most about this book was the way in which the author identifies some of the habits because when you hear one that is familiar to you, you say "hey! I do that!" and you pay more attention to those relevant issues. Not only is there a comprehensive explanation of various behaviors, both clinical and not, there are really great exercises and lessons suggested to provide a real solution. I very much enjoyed this book.

As an American, I have an embarrassing lack of knowledge about my Northern neighbors, or I should say I USED to have an embarrassing lack of knowledge! This book was chock full of info and covered all of the topics that needed discussion, like indigenous people, European involvement, and the resulting cultures and people that live there now as a result. Very interesting and well narrated.

This book was really terrific! Not only did it work through some basic concepts of language acquisition, it provided real examples of activities that can be done in order to support each level of understanding. The combination of "why" and "how" made the concepts really stick for me. Also, the author shares a lot of personal stories about her own children as she discusses the learning stages to help drive home some key focus points. I liked how the author also provided some games to try with your kids in order to support their literacy. As with the other parts of the book, the author provided real examples of games (including what you need and how to play).

As a parent of an ADHD child, I've definitely had some struggles along the way, beginning with understanding what it was and then getting over the denial and stigma. This book is a comprehensive look at what's going on inside your child's head, and it challenges us as parents to manage both their development and our own responses to their behavior. More than that, this book is more about celebrating the differences and learning to embrace the things that make our children unique. The author has a very nice way of taking a difficult subject and making it feel manageable and even special.

This bundle has a TON of information in it! Laws of attraction and the theory behind it has been something I've been curious about (and frankly a little skeptical about) for a long time. In this bundle, the author does really help dispell some of the misconceptions and she even acknowledges that some things may be hard to just believe without evidence...which was me, for sure. What I came to understand, however, is the ways in which mindset needs to change, and that an overall increase is positive thinking can't be a bad thing. This book collection made me really think about what kinds of things I was obsessing about, and how I was expending my mental energy. I think this is a great starter if you want to explore the laws of attraction and implement some changes in your life!

What a great resource to help in my journey to understand speed reading. This felt almost as much like therapy as it felt like a learning opportunity because the author really took the time to make me think about my current habits and why I read and process information the way I currently do! It was a fascinating glimpse into the psychology of some of the principles of speed reading, followed by really helpful practice sessions and tips.

I love a good rain sound or white noise to lull me to sleep. Sometimes I get distracted by a repeated loop of sound or find that rain can be tinny or not sound real enough. This one, on the other hand is perfect. You get a lot of variety of rain sounds and they’re super clear. I will definitely play this again and again!

There's a lot packed into this little book! This book really helps you tap into some parts of yourself that may struggle when dealing with mental illness. How do you navigate a world that sometimes feels so broken, especially when what you really want to do is help people when they need you? As someone who isn't very familiar with scripture, I was appreciative that this book pointed to relevant passages to help guide this story. I think of this book as a beautiful guided meditation of sorts...I came out feeling more at peace and connected to thoughts and feelings.
