Found it hard to get through
Revisado: 03-25-24
This book felt a little chaotic and all over the place. Took me a long time to get through because it wasn't what I expected and I wasn't enjoying it. I'm interested in cold therapy and breathing techniques, but I personally wouldn't recommend this book.

Validating
Revisado: 03-24-23
As someone who has been dealing with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks living in the U.S. during late stage capitalism, I found this book extremely validating. The writing kept me interested and the narration was great. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Interesting but a little sporadic
Revisado: 03-02-22
Story was a little all over the place and there was some offensive wording used that might not have been offensive at the time it was written. Interesting combination of stories though and gets you thinking about what could be out there. Narration was good and I got through the book quickly because it did keep me wanting to hear what happened next.

Zero day: a software bug that allows a hacker to break into your devices and move around undetected. One of the most coveted tools in a spy's arsenal, a zero day has the power to silently spy on your iPhone, dismantle the safety controls at a chemical plant, alter an election and shut down the electric grid (just ask Ukraine). For decades, under cover of classification levels and non-disclosure agreements, the United States government became the world’s dominant hoarder of zero days.

Hard to get through
Revisado: 10-10-21
I was disappointed that the book was so hard to get through. I learned hackers can and have turned all the traffic lights green, disarmed our nuclear power plants, can hack apple and Google and Android, but still this book was so hard to get through. I wouldn't recommend it.

Absolutely Amazing
Revisado: 07-08-21
This honestly might be my favorite book. I'll admit it was a little hard to get into at first, but once I realized what life changing information is within I couldn't stop reading. This is a book I feel I will need to re-read to get the most out of it. I'm truly so inspired, I want to go to school to become a registered dietitian so I can teach others about this. You have to read this for your own sake and your friends and family's sake.

In this episode I speak with my longtime hero Dr. T Colin Campbell about the current state of nutrition science, what a holistic vs. reductionist approach to nutrition and scientific research looks like, and how reductionist thinking is harming public health. This includes: - What is reductionist science and why it's harmful- how reductionist science and thinking is hindering our public health approach to the COVID19 Pandemic- How and why holistic science and nutrition research is being suppressed - How to deal with conflicting research- whether specific nutrient pathways/theoretical ...

Captivating!!
Revisado: 04-30-21
The first episode is captivating! Very applicable to the current state of the world. I had no idea breastfeeding can lower your baseline cholesterol for life. 😳 And never considered that the destigmatisation of seeking help for mental health would potentially be boosting profits for big pharma. Lots of thought provoking content about possible unintended consequences of irradicating COVID-19 and other topics. Definitely worth a listen!

Historia
We are often on a quest for more, giving in to pressure every day to work more, own more, and do more. For Courtney Carver, this constant striving had to come to a stop when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Stress was like gasoline on the fire of her symptoms, and it became clear that she needed to root out the physical and psychological clutter that were the source of her debt and discontent. In this book, Carver shows us how to pursue practical minimalism so we can create more with less - more space, more time, and even more love.

Life Changing
Revisado: 04-08-21
I didn't expect to love this book so much. I didn't even pay for it, it was included in my membership. Sure, they missed a few editing opportunities in the recording, but everyone is human and it honestly felt more real to me because of it. I feel very inspired to make changes in my life after reading this book. Planned a day this weekend to get rid of things in my apartment I've been hanging on to due to guilt of getting rid of them. I will highly recommend this book and will probably re-read it soon.

Historia
In The China Study, T. Colin Campbell revolutionized the way we think about our food with the evidence that a whole food, plant-based diet is the healthiest way to eat. Now, in Whole, he explains the science behind that evidence, the ways our current scientific paradigm ignores the fascinating complexity of the human body, and why, if we have such overwhelming evidence that everything we think we know about nutrition is wrong, our eating habits haven’t changed.

Good information, but boring
Revisado: 10-10-20
I found it hard to get into this book. Most of the information I already knew from reading The China Study. The narrator whistled his S's which is one of my biggest pet peeves and makes my skin crawl. Good info, but not my favorite book.

I've read many books about the benefits of a whole food plant-based diet, but I still learned a lot in this book! It was very thorough and also went over foods labeled organic. I would definitely recommend this book!
