Pat Conroy is a mad southern genius!
Revisado: 10-02-22
The only thing lacking in this recording is a narrator with a rich rolling southern drawal. Pats words tortured him as much as they freed him. i cannot wait to see him again on the other side. we love you Pat. Im so sorry you were so haunted by the stories that enveloped your existence. we miss you!

Dick Hill is sublime, musical, & superb!!!
Revisado: 09-20-22
He makes a Wilbur Smith book turn into Amadeus Mozarts missing work; for it lulls you in and hits every note from beginning to end. I find it appalling that audible removed its predecessor, "River God," from EVERY PURCHASERS LIBRARY! I have cancelled my membership because of this!

WHERE IS THE UNABRIDGED BOOK NARRATED BY DICK HILL
Revisado: 07-18-22
i had purchased the UNABRIDGED version of this book narrated by dick hill. i didnt use a credit. i used cold hard cash. it was in my library and audible took it off their catalog and removed it from my library replacing it with this piece of crap thats a piss poor knock off that should exclusively be used as a sedative in mental asylums! they need to bring back the copy narrated by dick hill not this humdrum droning reader. this WAS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BOOK ON EARTH! But I wouldn't want this in my library and i wont reccomend it to anyone ever again unless they bring back the other one. it was a much more quality recording and it did Wilbur Smith's words justice! shame on you audible. you stole from me.

Historia
Pat Conroy is without doubt America's favorite storyteller, a writer who portrays the anguished truth of the human heart and the painful secrets of families in richly lyrical prose and unforgettable narratives. Now, in Beach Music, he tells of the dark memories that haunt generations, in a story that spans South Carolina and Rome and reaches back into the unutterable terrors of the Holocaust.

One of if not, MY MOST FAVORED, books!
Revisado: 07-22-19
Pat Conroy is more of a magician of relating the pain of growing up in the deep south through the English language, than a writer. His words and their poetry are more magical than any David Copperfield performance to ever grace a stage and CERTAINLY explode with more wonderment to any awaiting audience!

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL AND BRILLIANT!!!!!
Revisado: 07-16-19
Pat Conroy is the primary author that illustrates my life; chapter after beautifully written tragic chapter! Some of the best writing the South has to offer! (And if you haven't tried his cookbook, it's one of the great losses of your life!)

Historia
Ancient Egypt. Land of the Pharaohs. A kingdom built on gold. A legend shattered by greed. Now the Valley of Kings lies ravaged by war, drained of its lifeblood, as weak men inherit the cherished crown. On the eve of the festival of Osiris, the loyal subjects of the Pharaoh gather in Thebes to pay tribute to their leader.
Exploding with all the passion and rage of a bygone time, River God is a masterpiece of historical writing.
