Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

I personally do not like Productions. I like a solid narrator who brings life to characters thru voices. This was like listening to the TV in another room. Not my cuppa.

Historia
After a career in Army Intelligence, Porter Beck is back in Nevada and doing the same lawman’s job his father once did. His sparsely populated jurisdiction is usually very quiet. But on the night of July 4, Sheriff Beck sees a strange light streak across the dark sky. He prays it won’t crash in drought-stricken Lincoln County, where the wildfires are already burning. But it does, and the resultant explosion triggers an avalanche of death and destruction in the high desert, impacting Beck’s oldest friend, the community at large, and even his sister, Brinley.

Second offering in the series brings nothing new about our main character, but still provides an interesting, intelligent plot. But I would like to know Sheriff Beck a little better...
Narration suites the story well.

Historia
To me, that's all Lucian Aston is—a highly sophisticated, posh Englishman who stars in my daydreams. Mostly because of the way he views me as a loud, boisterous, no-nonsense surgical nurse he's stuck touring London and Paris with up to the day of his groundbreaking surgery. Until then, we've got a lot of downtime to kill. So, it's only natural that I put my best foot forward to get to know him a little better. Problem is Lucian has no intention of taking a single step in his fancy wingtips to meet me halfway. That is until we strike our deal.

DNF: I bought this because Ravenhood blew me away. That was so well written; so well developed; so deep.
This is brutal. Endless inner dialogue that just repeats. I kept hoping something would develop. I listened til they hit Paris and had to call it.
So Tedious.
I didn’t like the male lead either. Neither the voice actor nor the character.
I have listened to many Audible Originals that were far superior to this.

Historia
Every year, Jess and Storey have made an annual pilgrimage to the most remote corners of the country, where they camp, hunt, and hike, leaving much from their long friendship unspoken. Although the state of Maine has convulsed all summer with secession mania—a mania that has simultaneously spread across other states—Jess and Storey figure it’s a fight reserved for legislators or, worst-case scenario, folks in the capital. But after weeks hunting off the grid, the men reach a small town and are shocked by what they find.

Dog Star is in my All Time Favorites list. And I have enjoyed many other Heller Novels. This one fell short in comparison. I never fully engaged. And the ending made me wonder if it was all just a set up for Part Two. Narration was fine.

Isaac Race thought he'd found a new family and home. A new Life. He had, but it's all about to be snatched away. When an ambitious enemy launches a sneak attack on the USA, his peaceful life is shattered and Isaac, by his very nature a loner, must band together with a ragtag group of survivors to make their way to a sanctuary, three states away in the depths of a vicious east coast winter.

Teen Listen
Revisado: 01-04-25
First: This is not 6 books. It is a six part story. But none of the books stand alone so wrapping it as a Box Set is a marketing ploy. The "books" end abruptly, and the chapter breaks often felt added after narration was complete.
The on going story requires some suspension of disbelief: cars starting with 5 yr old gas as an example. Reminiscent of Red Dawn, it paints our teen characters as very capable at least, and certainly very lucky.
The narration worked well as a calm reader, not a performer.
Overall, the story was an entertaining listen, but certainly, suited best to a teen listener who hasn't yet read classics in this genre. Its also a very PG presentation, so even appropriate for 12 or 13 year olds.

For me, the narration ruined this story. I struggled to hear and discern each word.
The story was your typical meet-cute story. But I loved the tie in to her Christmas Bookshop story.
