Historia
1860: As the clash between the states rolls slowly to a boil, Elizabeth Packard, housewife and mother of six, is facing her own battle. The enemy sits across the table and sleeps in the next room. Her husband of 21 years is plotting against her because he feels increasingly threatened - by Elizabeth’s intellect, independence, and unwillingness to stifle her own thoughts. So Theophilus makes a plan to put his wife back in her place. One summer morning, he has her committed to an insane asylum.

A heartfelt story of a woman’s struggle to be treated as a human worthy of being treated with dignity and understanding.
Revisado: 01-09-23
This non-fiction story is about the struggles and fallacies of trusting institutions and individuals that are stated and believed to serve and protect. Belief systems in place that if challenged by an individual, will come to great individual cost and lost of freedoms, and great personal lost of family, and acceptance of that society that presents to be such a protector! If this story could be presented genderless maybe the critics would be less harsh with their opinions. Thank God for those that stand firm for fighting for the rights to be treated as a human with dignity and respect for the right to express themselves no matter the race, gender, class, or belief systems.

Historia
Sparked by a controversial debate in February 2014, Bill Nye has set off on an energetic campaign to spread awareness of evolution and the powerful way it shapes our lives. In Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation, he explains why race does not really exist; evaluates the true promise and peril of genetically modified food; reveals how new species are born, in a dog kennel and in a London subway; takes a stroll through 4.5 billion years of time; and explores the new search for alien life, including aliens right here on Earth.

Fun, informative, and a brilliant way to present a topic that is so controversial and complicated.
Revisado: 01-06-23
Love Bill Nyes ability to make topics that are so challenging, interesting and informative!! A fun no nonsense approach to the dance between scientific and creationism approaches to life!! To understand what is, makes it possible for what could be, sad that in the 21st century it’s still an uphill battle to encourage scientific discoveries. Please continue on, Bill!!

Historia
How can we make intelligent decisions about our increasingly technology-driven lives if we don’t understand the difference between the myths of pseudoscience and the testable hypotheses of science? Pulitzer Prize-winning author and distinguished astronomer Carl Sagan argues that scientific thinking is critical not only to the pursuit of truth but to the very well-being of our democratic institutions.

Thought provoking and truly supportive of true science versus pseudoscience thinking.
Revisado: 01-04-23
A delightful challenge, to base opinions on ideas that are factual and supported by science versus fear and manipulative processes so often used by society and institutions that are based on prejudice and opinions enforced only to control the uneducated. Ignorance is only bliss for those that live off of the backside of slaves and the uneducated. The author will truly be missed may his works continue on.
