I'm not sure what was worse -- the unlikeable characters, the bad pacing, or the completely predictable storyline. . This novel was like a train wreck that I couldn't stop watching, and the ending was much too dark for my taste. Overall, I conclude that the Audible recommendation algorithm is broken.

Stephanie Plum meets Elle Woods

With another excellent variation on the accidentally-good-at-her-job motif, Elle Cosimano takes us on a wild ride! This novel is so much fun and just suspenseful enough to keep me listening. I can't wait to read the rest of the Finlay Donovan books as she gets herself into -- and out of -- trouble.

So much fun!

Going Rogue was like a flashback to the earlier Stephanie Plum novels in the best possible way! It's a fun ride from start to finish, with plenty of donuts, destroyed cars, and dead guys. There is will-they-won't-they tension with the two heartthrobs. Once again, Lorelei King narrates perfectly. She has great character definition and range.

Here for Anna, not Rachel

I picked up this book after watching the Anna Delvey series on Netflix because I could not get enough of the fake German heiress! Although I had to put up with the author's simpering, whiny narration to get the information, it was worth it. I loved hearing about her extravagant lifestyle and brilliant cons. The author clearly has an agenda -- to make herself look like the innocent victim -- but we can see right through her and enjoy the story.

Fun characters in an unlikely setting

It took me a while to get into this story because I don't think the narrator differentiates enough between the voices. However, once I figured out who everyone was, I settled in and enjoyed the story. The characters are loveably incorrigible, and the mystery is intriguing.

Read this if you like loose ends

I liked this story, and it definitely held my attention until the end. It was interesting to have an entire novel unfold over the span of a few hours, and the flash-forward scenes helped a lot with pacing. However, some of the surprising revelations were so far-fetched, and lots of loose ends were left at the end. Perhaps the author meant to "leave us hanging" to create suspense, but I just felt unsatisfied.

You know exactly what you're going to get

With a Stephanie Plum novel, you know exactly what you're going to get: Lula's crazy hair, blown-up cars, cute mystery men, and lots of fast food. It's a lot like the other Stephanie Plum novels, but that's why I like it! It's comforting, familiar, and fun.

What an experience!

If you are a fan of the Phantom Tollbooth, you will appreciate the metaphors and puns in this story. With a full cast and sound effects, it is more like a radio drama than a regular audiobook. I enjoyed listening to it in the car with my 11-year-old. Although the climax/ending is a bit frightening with the added sound effects, overall it is great for kids. There is also a great message about taking care of what we have, keeping and repairing things instead of tossing them. I highly recommend this title.

Excellent story that is not a cautionary tale

I loved this title! The author treats the main character with such dignity, showing the challenges of teen motherhood without turning it into a cautionary tale. Emoni finds her voice and blazes her own trail. Each character is likable, complex, and interesting. The author narrates it beautifully, and it is so nice to hear it the way she intended. Overall, I recommend this book for teens and adults alike.

Great novel and narration

I have never read Sally Hepworth before, but I liked The Woman in the Window, Girl on the Train, and that sort of novel. I think this was in keeping with those worthy titles. However, this one is more of a slow burn. The author took forever to let us know it was a murder mystery, and then BAM! solved it. I usually like to figure out whodunit before the author reveals the answer; in this case, I was unable to do so. I really enjoyed the slow exploration of the relationships between characters. Every character was likable in their own way. Overall, I highly recommend this read!
