K Loraine and Meg Anne are automatic BUYs for me. Their collaborative minds blow me away. Add my favorite narrators, make it a full cast recording (each character interacts with the other characters verses one narrator reading sections), and it’s truly chef’s kiss.

I’ve known the authors Tamara and Alastair on FB for a while but hadn’t read their books. I can’t remember why I chose to start with Mother but I’m incredibly glad I did. It’s an investment time wise because I found I kept stopping to exhale or rewind parts that really stood out. Beyond the psychological thrill ride, the Ewww factor, and the cornucopia of unique neighbors and characters you genuinely care about, the humor is an added perk that is absolutely brilliant. I would love to see this made into a miniseries. Well done!

I only recently discovered this author and, having already devoured 5 of her audiobooks in a week, wanted to keep the high going. Second only to Tim Campbell, Jason Clarke is an immediate buy. I’m just so confused by this whole “love story” romantic trope with a writing style made more confusing by Clarke’s female voice. Normally done quite well, his FMC sounds like a male although it’s supposed to be her thinking out loud. Then there’s the narcissistic, disgusting pig of a MLC who could never be in love - I’m far from prudish but his totally selfish focus was borderline abusive but, as the title infers, the FMC is too innocent and in love to understand this and only wants to please him. YUCK.

Basking in the afterglow but sad the trilogy is over!

I had not heard of Ms. Windsor until my FB group and she is now my favorite historical romance author.

Everything was perfectly executed: The standalone books that are even more delicious together; the male main characters swoon worthy with their female counterparts fiery and challenging; the passion and steam tasteful yet stirring; and Justine Eyre is MAGNIFICENT!

I’m now suffering from extreme book(s) hangover which, coming from me, is the highest praise.

I LOVE ANNA HACKETT

When I saw Hex was ready to listen to, I snatched it right up. It was everything and more than I expected. All of her previous couples made more than token appearances, wrapping up the Sentinel Security series with a pink bow. She also slyly set up what looks to be an introduction to another spinoff series. Bravo to Stella and Teddy for their always outstanding narration, too.

I fell victim to the read-the-rating and believe them causing me to go from Book 1 (Mafia Prince) right into book 3 (Mafia Games), skipping Shae’s story altogether. While perusing my ridiculous amount of audiobooks in my library, I thought of how much I enjoyed Vi Carter’s writing and went for Mafia King prepared to be a wee bit disappointed after the other two.

Au contraire! It was even better than the other two! The narrators were fantastic and I listened to the book in one sitting. Now I can only hope Ms. Carter puts book 4, Dana’s story, on audio soon!

Great in spite of Emma Wilder

Luckily I neglected to pay attention to the narrators when I purchased this. I adore John Lane but cannot stand Emma Wilder. Only Erin Mallon and Emma are the only two narrators I won’t listen to. But, I love this series enough to suffer through her parts.

I’m on to the next one!

This took me three days to listen to and I mean that in a good way. I didn’t want it to end so I slowly savored it. The duet narration by two of the best narrators I’ve had the pleasure of listening to blew this tale of eternal love out of the water. Now if it could only be made into a movie, it would become an instant classic.

Almost like an old-fashioned romance novel with a little bit of sex added. A very little bit but needed to update the story and to finish the arc. No angst. Perfect narration.

Excellent Story BUT…

Way too short. The plot had all the feels, action, intrigue, angst, super swoon inducing hero, strong minded heroine, even 2 lovesick side characters to make for a superb addition to the MacLeod series but it just wrapped up way too quickly. The mystery was solved, punishments rendered, justice served, a battle won, implied virginity lost, and a HEA all within the last 45 minutes! It could’ve/should’ve taken each of those plot lines a couple of chapters each instead of feeling like the author had bumped back her deadline one too many times.

I would’ve asked for my credit back if not for Tim Campbell’s narration. I have missed his brilliance and just purchased 3 more of his narrated historical romances. I’m pretty sure I own them all now.
