Historia
Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Another Epic Reacher Story!
Revisado: 03-18-25
As with most involved incredible novels, it took time to build the scene and bring the various parts into the scene, but once that was completed, this book took off on a swirling tale of abuse and possible misguided stories from the support character, Carmen. The way Child takes us through this story is masterful, making us doubt Carmen's story, then the appearance of something that might support it, only to be yanked away again. The finish was a twisted but understandable montage of events, bringing it to the end. Or so you think!
This is a well deserved listen/read, whichever you're doing, but if you're on Audible, obviously its a listen. Spend the credit and delve into this story of hot desert temperatures, twisted values and misaligned alliances.

She’ll stick to her commitment-free hookups, thanks very much, except no one in her life will just let her be. Everyone wants to see her settled down, but she holds firmly to her no dating rule. There’s only one problem—Iris is a romance author facing an imminent deadline for her second book, and she’s completely out of ideas.

Not a Bad Story If You Can Handle Language
Revisado: 02-21-25
I had not listened to any books by Ms. Blake before, and I'm a little stunned why today's authors feel the need to drop f-bombs constantly. I'm not a prude, and I say it also, but only when it's appropriate for the situation. It seems Ms. Blake feels the need in every fifth sentence, give or take a few.
The base story is good and entertaining, and I found myself extending the 30-minute listening sessions so I could keep the story going. Just a note: This book is one to listen to AFTER Delilah Green Doesn't Care as it seems to be the second or third in the series.

A Good Story That Will...
Revisado: 01-04-25
This story is a good one, but one that will cause you to shake your head at the cataclysmic lack of communication between two people who say they love one another. Granted, something always seems to come up, as in most romance books of today, mine included, but that's how stories are sometimes, and life too, if we don't address the "beautiful elephant in the room", to quote Melissa, then these things will happen. The one issue I have with this story is, after all the lack of communication between Jamie and Leighton, it seems they would have spent some time to iron out the relationship realization in the end BEFORE jumping in bed! This is just my opinion, but I'm a romantic with some desire for open and honest communication.

Well Worth the Listen!
Revisado: 11-25-24
I just finished listening to this book, and I'd like to review it while it's fresh in my mind. As someone else has said in a previous review, the narrator COULD learn about pronunciation of names, i.e. Jack LaLanne among other words, but outside of that, it was a well done narration.
The story is well written and has interesting twists in the murder mystery. If you like mysteries with a little romantic inputs, this one is worth a credit and a listen.
I'm not going to discuss the storyline because it could ruin the book. Just take the time to enjoy it!

A Heartwarming Tale of Unbelievable Love
Revisado: 10-31-24
There are many books out there based on the story of Escort meets future lover, and some are worth the time and credits to listen to. This happens to be one of them! From the first couple of chapters, after the setup is complete, the story takes off with the unlikely meeting of two women, one straight and one not. The straight woman wanting a meeting with the male escort, Robin, who turns out to be a woman, NOT a man! But the meeting finds both women feeling a sense of ease with each other, which is totally believable in my opinion. Robin helps Annie meet a male escort but he just doesn't have that warmth and ease that Robin had, so Annie reconnects with Robin.
I have listened to lots of books (and written several myself) and find there are some constant themes that run through most of them. While this book does take on one of the normal themes, it does provide a great story and one I found myself staying awake to hear what happened next. I am not a spoiler, so no hints outside of what I already wrote. I will say that the only thing I would change in this book is the narrator's distinction of characters in the voices. I found myself, at times, having problems knowing who was talking until something was said that clued me in. Some of you might not have an issue with this, and that's okay. Take a chance and spend a credit to listen! You'll thank yourself for doing so.

What An Amazing Story!
Revisado: 10-09-24
I've listened to many books (over 1200 now) as I'm not much of a reader, and in those books, there were many that I found touching. I HAVE to rank this one as one of the few that made me laugh, cry, feel good and sad, and come back for more! I know this is only a story on pages, but then I have to ask 'Is it? Is it just a story in print, or is it the story that someone has lived and has been put here for us to hear and feel?' I am also a writer and with the way I write books, I feel the story is given to me to transcribe for that unknown entity that wants it told, in hopes someone else will get something from it. THIS is that kind of book! Ms. Healy's ability to tell a story in such a way that it can successfully reach deep within a person and bring those emotions out is a talent, and although I had not heard of her before, I can assure you I will be looking for more of her books. Honor yourself and take a listen. You won't be sorry.

What A Great Story!
Revisado: 10-06-24
I just finished listening to this amazing story, and I will admit it caused some moist eyes a few times! The mystery of the house and the story of a love lost years before was well written and kept you wanting to know more. The only real drawback I had with the story was the persistence of Jodi for a woman who apparently didn't care for her. In the real life, I believe most people would give up after a couple of years of pining for a person who won't surrender to the obvious desires they have. Perhaps that's why Jodi didn't give in, but that's for her to know.

Another Miss for J.J. Arias
Revisado: 09-03-24
I feel like I'm having a Deja vu moment. Once again, this book is a vehicle for jumping from sex scene to sex scene. The breathy delivery of Kingsley Rose was way over the top. I found her narration boring and just too much attempt to be 'sexy'. Neither the story, nor the narrator, earned a positive review. If you're looking for a good story and a few hours of entertainment, this ISN'T going to fill it if you have any understanding of romance.

Predictable and A Story for Sex Only
Revisado: 09-03-24
This story is very predictable and seems like a vehicle to hop from sex scene to sex scene. Miss Craden did as good a job as possible with the material she had. If you're looking for something to raise your libido, then go for it. If you're looking for a STORY that expands your life while giving entertainment, better pass this one up.

Life has become a farcical mess for icy British A-lister Elizabeth Thornton. America's most-hated villain stars in a top-rated TV medical drama that she hates. Now, she's been romantically linked to her perky, new co-star, Summer, due to the young woman's clumsiness. As a closeted actress, that's the last thing Elizabeth needs. If she could just get her dream movie role, life would be so much better. The only problem is that the eccentric French film-maker offering it insists on meeting her "girlfriend", Summer, first.

Now THIS is Romance From Start to Finish
Revisado: 08-22-24
Winter has written a wonderful book of love, frustration, humor and narcissistic behavior. The two main characters, Elizabeth and Summer, are such wonderful characters and they bring life to the idea of two opposites attracting each other, once the other obstacle ix eliminated. There were plenty of English type humor laced through this story, and I found myself laughing often! The wit and insight of Skye (Summer's mother) was brought into the story masterfully!.
I was glad to see Grace booted from Elizabeth's life... finally! If you're looking for a story to get you through a long trip or just to listen to while cleaning the house, this is one you'll not be sorry to spend a credit (or money) on!
