Another frustrating female protagonist
Revisado: 10-08-24
*Spoiler alert *
The story has some good twist and turns. BUT when the protagonist asked the killer for her cell phone so she could call the police and then proceeded to ask the killer for some tea, I started laughing.. did she really think that a killer would let her call the cops on her and then make her a cup of camomile?

Religious much?
Revisado: 07-13-24
The title is misleading. I thought this was a self help book until he started quoting the Bible. As a hardcore atheist, it’s hard to get past the constant preaching and the Tak of the devil. This is not helpful at all unless you’re a hardcore Christian.

Historia
Son of the City goes behind the scenes of the golden age of hip-hop with esteemed producer and music industry veteran Dante Ross, one of the top 25 greatest A&Rs as named by Complex Magazine. Ross pulls no punches as he details his time growing up on the pre-gentrification Lower East Side as the child of political activists, his devotion to punk rock, and his eventual discovery of a brand-new art form, which landed him at Tommy Boy Records, where he signed and handled the careers of such artists as De La Soul, Queen Latifah, and Digital Underground.

Couldn’t put it down, finished it in 2 days. Well written, witty and sometimes rather emotional. Good job telling the story about the culture and history of New York City and the music industry.

Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Too redundant
Revisado: 04-30-23
David Goggins gives some adequate advice and tips for people who struggle with laziness, but the preaching becomes too monotonous and therefore less insightful.

Historia
I'm not supposed to leave the house. But what my husband doesn't know won't kill him. I break his rules every morning on my runs. It's always been best when I have a routine. So every day I wake up, run, clean the house, wish for a better life, repeat. Every day is exactly the same. Except Thursdays. I live and breathe for Thursdays. It's when he comes. I watch from a distance. I can't help myself. But I was never supposed to talk to him. I know what you're thinking. But you don't know my story. You don't know the kind of monster my husband is. And trust me, you have no idea who I am.

The story is too long for a thriller
Revisado: 04-17-23
The main character is extremely frustrating and annoying! The story wasn’t interesting enough for this amount of time.

Revisado: 09-14-22
Dr Gabor Mate is brilliant land I’m sure this is a great book. But how can we rate the content of this book if we can’t hear what he is saying? The audio is so mumbled I can barely make out what he’s saying. Finally, I got so tired of going back every 30 seconds I just stopped listening. It’s a shame.
