Historia
In the snowbound city of Kiev, wry and bookish history student Mila Pavlichenko organizes her life around her library job and her young son—but Hitler’s invasion of Russia sends her on a different path. Given a rifle and sent to join the fight, Mila must forge herself from studious girl to deadly sniper—a lethal hunter of Nazis known as Lady Death. When news of her three hundredth kill makes her a national heroine, Mila finds herself torn from the bloody battlefields of the eastern front and sent to America on a goodwill tour.

The character development is amazing
Revisado: 08-30-24
Honestly, I wasn’t sure I would like this book especially the topic of Russian woman spy. However, I have to say I loved this book. I did not want to end. It’s just so fascinating. The story is well told the characters are well developed and it is an interesting aspect of World War II, to which I knew nothing about. The story is loosely based on real people and the story really opened my eyes.
I would highly recommend this enlightening 12 hour listen.

Historia
The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Amazing story
Revisado: 08-11-24
This is such a great story. Kristen Hannah has such a way with weaving together, history and life, and love and loss makes you learn and understand the relevance of the history in a way you simply can’t understand. Just facts and figures. When you become involved with these peoples lives, it makes the story so much more relevant and meaningful. Books like Kristen Hannah’s should be required reading for history classes all over the country. I’m sure that’s never gonna happen but I know I sure would’ve learned a lot more about history if I would have approached it through these sorts of stories.
This is the third book of hers. I have read and I found it a little harder to get into than the women and the four winds but I knew it would be great so I stuck with it and by about chapter 11 - I couldn’t stop listening I believe the reason I was so lost at the beginning is because I knew so little about the German occupation of France during World War II. But I sure have a much better understanding now at any rate it was really an awesome book. Thank you Kristen Hannah for writing this book.

This was an awesome book
Revisado: 12-12-23
I loved this book from beginning to end. The characters are real, the struggles, they face are relatable, and the narration is like a movie for your ears (although that is a line out of the book).
In my opinion, the character development is phenomenal. Each of the characters is flawed (like we all are), but the quirks are well-developed and explained.
So, if you are looking for a break from reality for 10 hours and you enjoy a nice love story that works out in the end. This is the book for you.

Historia
When discipline is your life, structure’s a good thing, and Owen Johnson’s got plenty of both. An All-Pro NFL center who’s also a cattle rancher? Yeah, that’s structure. His marriage didn’t work out, but then, he picked the wrong woman. A Wyoming ranch doesn’t look nearly as romantic up close. Not to a model, anyway. Next time, he’ll choose better. Not, for example, a 19-year-old ball of fire like Dyma Cardello, who’s just starting on her own journey. To become an astronautical engineer. After about five years of schooling. Which she’s focused on like, well, a rocket.

Great story
Revisado: 06-25-23
Honestly, I didn’t really think I was going to like this story because it’s about a 19 year old. And being in my late 50s I wasn’t sure I could really relate but actually it was a great story and I totally enjoyed it. It is almost like a continuation of the previous book. So if you haven’t read the book, the proceeds that I would read that before reading this one.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did I laughed out loud. I cried out loud and I was just so in chanted with this character Dima of course the narrator does an amazing job. It’s beyond me how she can do so many voices, but what’s your fun to listen to add highly recommend the story.

Each of the three stories was captivating interesting and had great character development. I found the females to be real people with real problems and real challenges. The stores are well written, thoughtful, insightful, and just fun. The voices make the stories so much better really just wonderful.

Historia
Ellie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry. And they were so much easier to stick to when he was a half of a world away. But now, he’s home. Standing in front of her, body hard and chiseled to perfection from his stint in the military, he’s wearing a suit cut to perfect and a smirk she could never resist. Suddenly, all the reasons why she should avoid him just got a whole lot harder to remember. He calls her his first love. He swears he won’t make the mistake of letting her go again. But he’s said that before.

Awesome deal for one credit
Revisado: 12-08-22
For me, the first book started a little bit slow but after that, it was great. I really enjoyed each of the free books. I was a little concerned they might feel redundant, but they were not at all, and it was just so enjoyable. The character development was really great because the characters reappear in each book.
Such a joy!!

Historia
My marriage started as a lie. But some lies are worth telling. My father’s dying wish was to walk me down the aisle, so when my fiancé jilts me days before the ceremony, I turn to my college friend, Oliver Parkerson, and convince him to marry me. My family hasn’t met either man, so I’m confident we can pull this off. But the way my heart beats for him - none of it feels pretend. I didn't mean to fall for my fake husband, but love was the one thing I couldn't predict. Nothing built on lies can last - I know that better than anyone. But the truth might tear us apart forever.

Such a wonderful Indian to the series
Revisado: 11-27-22
First, if you haven’t read the previous three books in the series, I would strongly recommend reading those first. This one ties together the entire family, and without understanding all the other characters, it might not be quite as good.
This is just a fun story about two people that found themselves in a difficult situation, and really made the best of it, Corrine Michaels does such a wonderful job developing the characters so it’s very clear where they’re coming from, what the appreciate, and what they dislike and what motivates them. It’s just a wonderful escape from reality and a wonderful break from life. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.
Of course, listening to these books on audible does cost money but in my mind, it’s well worth it. I think of it like skipping a coffee because two coffees is about what a cost for a book and I get a lot more enjoyment out of these books and I do a couple of cups of coffee, even the best coffee and I love coffee!
I always listen to these books while I’m walking and it worked as a motivation for walking but also just a wonderful way to explore the woods around my house and explore the lives of other people.
Corinne also does a great job of weaving, some interesting perspectives on life in every book. For example, in this book,
there is one mind that really stuck with me. The line was something about a billboard and. The psychologist said something along the lines of do you think there’s a giant billboard in the sky that keeps track of the wrongs and the rights that people have felt in their lifetime. That really resonated with me because I do often it’s easy to think I’m not good enough for this or that but actually we’re all good enough to have a great life it’s just what we make it.
So sit back and enjoy and learn all about this family. Such a joy!

Historia
My life was perfect - until a shocking tragedy pulled the rug out from underneath me. My children were left without a father. I was without a husband and a provider. Instead of wallowing in my grief, I buried myself in my work at Dovetail Enterprises. Landing the promotion as the CEO’s right hand was exactly what I needed. Getting saddled with Milo Huxley as an assistant is exactly the opposite. I can’t stand him. He’s arrogant, irresponsible, and out for my job. As if that’s not bad enough, he has to be devastatingly sexy, and have a posh English accent that makes me squirm on top of it all.

Revisado: 10-09-22
I loved all four of these books but this was by far my favorite. She nailed it on her description of teenagers —- for sure —- and the whole book was great. I strongly recommend reading the first three books before this one because this one ties together the 4 friends really well and if you don’t have the background of the three other friends it might not be as meaningful. What an awesome series I’m so sad it’s over!
