Historia
Recruited into the fundamentalist Quiverfull movement as a young wife, Tia Levings learned that being a good Christian meant following a list of additional life principles—a series of secret, special rules to obey. Being a godly and submissive wife in Christian Patriarchy included strict discipline, isolation, and an alternative lifestyle that appeared wholesome to outsiders. Women were to be silent, “keepers of the home.” A Well-Trained Wife is an unforgettable memoir about a woman's race to save herself and her family and details the ways that extreme views can manifest in a marriage.

Eye Opening
Revisado: 08-19-24
I grew up in a fairly religious family but was lucky enough to go to college and seek out what religion means to me and reading this book has showed me what would have happened if I had not follow the little voice in the back of my mind and instead did what I was taught at church. I think Every young girl & woman starting from seventh grade on up should read this book before they think about dating or marriage because it really shows the full picture of what can happen when a woman goes into a marriage without any real knowledge of what life is like outside of religion. I think the author did an amazing job of Giving a real account of the trauma that occurred to her while also showing that you can become a Warrior when you need to. Although she had help ultimately she saved herself; she was her own Prince Charming.

Very cute love story of young love. Lots of game playing and the lack of patience of youth.

Is surprise ending
Revisado: 05-11-22
I could tell from the direction the story was going that the ending was going to be interesting, but I truly was surprised. The story did a really good job of building up the suspense in different parts and then the the ending was like a psychological thriller. highly recommend 👌🏽

Vigilante Justice
Revisado: 05-09-22
The book was very interesting, it kept me wanting to turn the page. I finished it in one sitting. But the ending I did not agree with. Although Rose ex was a terrible person, at the end I felt she was wrong for not revealing the truth. She knows that he was not the killer yet she chose to keep that information to herself. I personally have a huge problem with people who seek vigilante Justice and liars.

Historia
Goldengrove’s towers and twisted chimneys rose at the very edge of the peaceful Weald, a stone’s throw from the poisonous marshes and merciless waters of Rye Bay. Young Tabby Palethorp had been running wild there, ever since her mother grew too ill to leave her room. I was the perfect choice to give Tabby a good English education: thoroughly respectable and far too plain to tempt her lonely father, Sir Kit, to indiscretion. I knew better than to trust my new employer with the truth about my past. But knowing better couldn’t stop me from yearning for impossible things.

Warning Spoiler Alert
Revisado: 02-15-21
The story started off good, but quickly became increasingly unbelievable. The main character constantly is timid and has low selfesteem and talks bad about herself throughout the entire novel. She also constantly hears her dead grandmother's voice in her head telling her that she doesn't have any friends because can't trust anyone. Yet we are to believe that in less than 6 months she fell in love with the Lady Of the house and decided to Murder someone so that the Lady of the house could be happy? It is absolutely ridiculous to think that someone who has been timid for 34 years which is their entire life, would up and kill someone (in an hortfic way)for somebody else that they've only known less than 6 months when they consistently talk about how they don't trust anyone. It just doesn't make any sense!

Good plot, highly disappointing ending
Revisado: 11-11-20
The main characters were very realistic and relatable. The plot was very interesting and complex im a good way. I had no complaints with the book until the final chapter, the ending was very anti climactic and left the reader confused as to the safety of the main characters. I did not agree with their choice in the end, but yhe choice they made will leave you wondering what happen. Their choice also seems kind of selfish considerating They were offered an opportunity to make a lot of great changes in a organisation that edits foundation was good it just fell a little wayward over the years. Overall a good book, on the grading scale I give it a solid B-
