Historia
In Made in America, Bryson de-mythologizes his native land, explaining how a dusty hamlet with neither woods nor holly became Hollywood, how the Wild West wasn't won, why Americans say 'lootenant' and 'Toosday', how Americans were eating junk food long before the word itself was cooked up, as well as exposing the true origins of the G-string, the original $64,000 question, and Dr Kellogg of cornflakes fame.

Geat Stories, Great Narration
Revisado: 12-30-22
I loved this book. For the life of me I can't understand the distress people on here display for the narrator. William Roberts is a magnificent narrator. The book is magnificent also. This is my second Bill Bryson book and I can't wait for the next one.

Historia
Bill Bryson has been an enormously popular author both for his travel books and for his books on the English language. Now, this beloved comic genius turns his attention to science. Although he doesn't know anything about the subject (at first), he is eager to learn, and takes information that he gets from the world's leading experts and explains it to us in a way that makes it exciting and relevant.

Perfect Book.

I loved this book. The only issue I have is I wish It was written in the last couple of years, but most of the observations were as relevant as if it was written this year. I LOVE Bill Bryson! A multinational treasure!

Historia
The second novel in the wildly popular First Law Trilogy from New York Times best seller Joe Abercrombie. Superior Glokta has a problem. How do you defend a city surrounded by enemies and riddled with traitors, when your allies can by no means be trusted, and your predecessor vanished without a trace? It's enough to make a torturer want to run - if he could even walk without a stick. Northmen have spilled over the border of Angland and are spreading fire and death across the frozen country. Crown Prince Ladisla is poised to drive them back and win undying glory.

Not Bad
Revisado: 11-26-22
Definitely a good book. Not the best but good for a second volume in a trilogy. One small thing, the narrator's pronunciation of grimace was distracting, but that was a minor issue. Good advancement of the story. The ending was a little weak but overall it was a good listen.

Historia
Gladiator. Assassin. Thief. Princess. And the slave. The five warrior angels have been revealed; one by one, the mystical weapons they once wielded are being found, and an ancient prophecy is finally being fulfilled. Or is it? For when it comes to recorded history, much is intended to manipulate and deceive.

Frustrated
Revisado: 09-06-21
Has potential. The narration is perfect. The pace is very good. The problem I have is the "heros" are mostly unlikable. They're constantly whining, constantly clueless, every good person around them the author kills off. It makes it very hard to root for anyone in the story. I actually was rooting for a couple of them to die, they're so unlikable. Through two books now and nothing hopeful or spirit lifting has happened. I understand you need conflict and strife to make a good story but this is ridiculous. Hopefully this is straightened out in the third book a little, at least.

A Masterpiece
Revisado: 10-12-20
This is the best volume in the series. Everything about it is satisfying. The story. The narration. All the plot twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. This will go down as the quintessential book in the Song of Ice and Fire series.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Revisado: 09-09-20
Love this story. The best written story of my lifetime. Wonderful dialogue. Read this series more than a dozen times but this is the first audio version I've listened to. The only problem I have is the narration. Doltrice is a perfectly fine reader, but the best part of these books are the young people in it and he cannot sound young. Arya sounds like a pirate. But that's probably being a little picky. Definitely worth a listen.
