Historia
In this paradigm shifting book, Dale Bredesen, MD, offers real hope to anyone looking to prevent and even reverse Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline. Revealing that AD is not one condition, as it is currently treated, but three, The End of Alzheimer's outlines 36 metabolic factors (micronutrients, hormone levels, sleep) that can trigger "downsizing" in the brain. The protocol shows us how to rebalance these factors using lifestyle modifications like taking B12, eliminating gluten, or improving oral hygiene.

I love the information but it needs a PDF. There is so much info about tests and vitamins and resources that a hard copy may be required. However, I love audible. a PDF would be so valuable.

Easy to understand and apply info.
Revisado: 04-02-23
Great info that I trust. What more can I ask for? I listen to "The Drive" podcast. The book was accessible. I'm glad it was read by Peter. I was surprised and touched by the vulnerability in the last chapter. I'm sure that vulnerability will open the door for many more. I also loved the clearness in direction for most efficacious exercise. I'm overweight but have exercised my whole life and it was good to hear that my efforts have not been wasted. This is the first I've read about exercise being more important than diet. Good news for me.

Historia
During her multi-book investigation into understanding human nature, Gretchen Rubin realized that by asking the seemingly dry question “How do I respond to expectations?” we gain explosive self-knowledge. She discovered that based on their answer, people fit into Four Tendencies: Upholders, Questioners, Obligers, and Rebels. Our Tendency shapes every aspect of our behavior, so using this framework allows us to make better decisions, meet deadlines, suffer less stress, and engage more effectively.

Helped my understand how to motivate myself
Revisado: 10-19-19
I'm a therapist and found this book very helpful for both me and my clients. It's important to understand what motivates us. I've always understood that it's important to find what motivates us internally. I do not have internal motivation. I need external motivators. This book does a great job explaining what that looks like

Historia
Among the most consistent and aggressive criticisms of Donald Trump is that he is a threat to American democracy - a human wrecking ball demolishing our most basic values and institutions. Resistance (at All Costs) makes the opposite case - that it is Trump's critics, in their zeal to oppose the president, who are undermining our foundations.

I learned a great deal, even as a political junkie
Revisado: 10-19-19
Wow, this book was so interesting and scary. I have always believed the best in people with whom I've disagreed but the evidence presented in this book makes me question that philosophy. Trump would not have been my pick for president, although I begrudgingly voted for him. I'm beginning to believe he is the man for the times. The attacks have been endless and changing. I hear things on the news that seem so biased that I question what I know. These people are so much more informed and smarter than I am, they must know something I don't know. I'm starting to realize that the world is turned upside down. YIKES. Anyone that accuses Trump of not being transparent is not paying attention or has an agenda.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

I wanted to love this but I just liked it a lot.
Revisado: 07-11-19
I followed this story very closely so very little of the information was new. I love Molly Hemingway. I agree with everything written in this book. I wanted to see another side of the story but still feel that this was a grave injustice to Brett Kavanaugh. I realize this would not be a logical source for that information. I thought there was some interesting insight into Susan Collins and Jeff Flake.

Historia
In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion.

LOVE THIS BOOK
Revisado: 06-04-18
This book accompanied me everywhere I went for 3 days. I questioned what good journalism looks like and this book made me a believer it still exists. YES!!!! I tend to believe there are two sides to every story but my doubts were answered with solid research. Charisma and intelligence are a persuasive couple and Holmes possessed both without ethics. I always wonder how smart people can be so misled. I am shocked this has not led to some criminal charges. It's hard to believe she is still raising money and leading a luxurious life. I was dismayed how easily power, money and legal fees shut up good people It gave me reason to pause and ponder how much more of this is going on. Loved this book and would love to read more like this.

Historia
Peter Schweizer explains how a new corruption has taken hold, involving larger sums of money than ever before. Stuffing tens of thousands of dollars into a freezer has morphed into multibillion-dollar equity deals done in the dark corners of the world. President Donald Trump’s children have made front pages for their dicey transactions. However, the media has barely looked into questionable deals made by those close to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Mitch McConnell, and lesser-known politicians who have been in the game longer.

What did you like best about this story?
I found the book non partisan, which is important to me in these days of divisiveness. Conclusions were all backed up with facts. I'm surprised this is not getting more media attention. Great and easy read. Unfortunately, it makes me even more cynical of our process. Is it inevitable that all politicians become corrupt? Who are the good guys?
