In Greaney I Trust

I don't normally love stories with past and present storylines, but I have LOVED every Greaney book so far. And I wasn't disappointed. The much anticipated back story of how Cort became Sierra Six was worth it and very satisfying. There is a real separation between Gray Man Novels and other military thrillers because of how well the author constructs the military situations, but also how well he writes dialogue and characters. Love the Gray Man!

Simply Extraordinary

It is difficult to explain why this is so good. First of all, how do you take the time period and people with which you may not be very familiar and create a narrative that by the end of the first book, has you smelling, hearing, and feeling what it would have been like in a Mongol camp, on campaign, with the mighty Genghis. I've read books from other time periods that Mr. Iggulden writes about and he doesn't borrow anything as filler. The research on this is amazing, because it aligns well with the nonfiction I've read. Second, we don't know what Genghis' personality was like, but the author does a brilliant job of fusing what we DO know into a believable and congruent narrative. The Kahn comes charging right at you from his time and circumstances, and he doesn't care at all if you think he is ruthless. I really appreciate that Genghis wasn't dumbed down or softened for modern audiences, but I also love that he gets the benefit of the doubt on what his reasons may have been. Third ... somehow the author balances this epic series with detail that puts you there, and stories that develop over time, but magically presents it with a breathless pace. And forth ... How is it even possible the Richard Ferrone can deliver the voices and narration perfectly suited to the times and characters. It has to be sorcery. What a treasure these books are!

Thank you Mr. Cameron - one of the best Clancy novels ever! Lots of moving parts, perfect tone with all the characters we know and love and the realistic details we crave. Terrific work!

Amaze amaze amaze!

I loved the Martian but this was even better! Loved that there could be all the scientific problem solving … but it never was too heavy or tedious. What a cool adventure!!!! Perfectly ready by the masterful Ray Porter!

Terrific Audiobook

This is a very cool, interesting and very large scale adventure in the comics. The author does a great job painting a picture and the voice work is fantastic!

The subjects lead very interesting lives to be sure, but Mr. Iggulden makes reading it a pleasure with his skill and research. And Mr. Glenister allows you to be swallowed up into the story. Thank you to both.

I’m a big Gray man, Orphan X, and Clancy fan and this is really a fantastic series that sits up there with these others. Porter’s Narration is perfect.

Best War/Strategy book ever

I don’t even know how to describe this amazing book. Captures all the things that makes our military the object of our admiration and love. Just a thrilling and inspiring read. Thank you.

There is great team chemistry here

Obviously, the accurate feeling military action, equipment and tactics is a real draw. And the stories are really good and interesting. But, on this one, I found my self really loving the team dynamic. I also like that Dempsey feels like a real person with his internal conflicts and self recrimination. Anyway ... thanks very much for the great books, I was so excited to see that there is another one after this ... which I'll get and listen to as well. Oh, and Ray Porter? One of the very best!
