Historia
Jack Reacher wakes up alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there. The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. His captors assume Reacher was the driver’s accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk. A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

As usual, the action was nonstop. I enjoyed the book. However, clues that reacher discovered were also apparent to the reader. Even before reacher recognized, they were glued. Saddest of all I knew the bad guy long before reacher figured it out. I am not used to happenin a Lee Childs book.

Did not meet my expectations
Revisado: 06-15-24
I am a big fan of this author. Even back in the days of his Philip Mercer character, and certainly since he took over, and in my opinion, saying the Isaac Bell series. Consequently, I was expecting a little more action and a little more empathy with the character. None of that was in this book.

Although ex had his adventurous encounters. The bulk of this novel was is becoming or beginning to become human. Something he had a boy did in most of the first books. Consequently, it gave the author the opportunity to show his command of prose. Like this series or not I have neverseen a better writer.

Historia
American evangelical Christianity has lost its way. While the witness of the church before a watching world is diminished beyond recognition, congregations are torn apart over Donald Trump, Christian nationalism, racial injustice, sexual predation, disgraced leaders, and covered-up scandals. Left behind are millions of believers who counted on the church to be a place of belonging and hope. As greater and greater numbers of younger Americans bleed out from the church, even the most rooted evangelicals are wondering, “Can American Christianity survive?”

This is a great book. Thoughtful and well written. However, it is weighty and I had to take a break every now and then. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I had a printed copy versus audio. I highly recommend it.

Revisado: 12-27-23
This is less a western and more a whodunit. Or in reality who is going to do it. Story written so poorly that I guess the answer to that question halfway through the book. The only reason I gave it a rating as high as 3 is that I did finish the book. It did put me to sleep twice, so it is good for that.
