Fun characters and friendships
Revisado: 01-14-24
Great story overall and liked the Nona the MC. The plot itself was kind of difficult to follow but rarely was dull. Excited to get the next book to continue following the story.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Great narrator!
Revisado: 01-30-22
The narrator did a great job and without him this story would have a much worse rating.
The story itself had a rather predictable plot and the characters were far from unique. But the basis of the world it's set in and the plot, while predictable, was quite entertaining for a short story/novella.

Historia
The men of the 77th Infantry Division couldn't fathom why Private Desmond T. Doss would venture into the horrors of World War II without a single weapon to defend himself. "You're nothing but a coward!" they said. But the soft-spoken medic insisted that his mission was to heal, not kill. When Desmond knelt by his bunk to pray, his fellow soldiers hurled boots and insults at him. Even his commander wanted to throw him out of the army. But when his unit arrived on the battlefield, the intrepid medic quickly proved he was no coward.

Great book
Revisado: 01-06-22
I bought this book after watching the movie and have been pleasantly surprised that I like the book just as much as the movie. The details and accounts are riveting.
It is a bit praising and such of Doss but then again it is a book about him and what God did for him. Maybe a bit much on praising the Seventh Day Adventists but all in all a really great book.

Historia
Annabelle Aster doesn't bow to convention—not even that of space and time—which makes the 1890s Kansas wheat field that has appeared in her modern-day San Francisco garden easy to accept. Even more exciting is Elsbeth, the truculent schoolmarm who sends Annie letters through the mysterious brass mailbox perched on the picket fence that now divides their two worlds. In this unconventional and enchanting tale, Annie and her new neighbor must solve the mystery of what connects them before one of them is convicted of a murder that has yet to happen—and somehow already did.

Absolutely thrilling!
Revisado: 01-06-22
The plot was fantastic and the characters even more so. How everything came together in the end and all the loose ends tied so dramatically kept me on the edge of my seat.
The only draw back was the romance subplot/trope with the main character and another with a side character but it was a small enough that it was easily overlooked for me.

Historia
Many of you grew up assuming that marriage would meet all of your needs and unlock God's purposes for you. But God has far more planned for you than your future marriage. Not Yet Married is not about waiting quietly in the corner of the world for God to bring you "the one" but about inspiring you to live and date for more now. If you follow Jesus, the search for a spouse is no longer a pursuit of perfection but a mutually flawed pursuit of Christ.

Good for new Christians and matures ones alike.
Revisado: 09-08-21
This book brings a good perspective on single life and I love how encouraging it is to live your life for the only one who matters. It's inspiring to make you want to do more with your life than wait to get married.
Only con I had with this is that does tend to be a bit repetitive at times and can be a little preachy. However, it's repeating the right sort of thing and preaching about God. So I find it easier to overlook.
