Historia
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he manages to smuggle a note to his new wife, Hannah: protect her. Hannah knows exactly who Owen needs her to protect - his 16-year-old daughter, Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. And who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As her increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, his boss is arrested for fraud and the police start questioning her, Hannah realises that her husband isn't who he said he was. And that Bailey might hold the key to discovering Owen's true identity and why he disappeared.

Loved it . True hearted

Only about ten chapters in I realised this is a memoir, it’s real. It happened. Making me enjoying and appreciating the book even more.
I also really enjoyed the interview at the end of the book.

Historia
When Des woke up on April 16, 2018, the morning of the Boston Marathon, it was 39 degrees and raining, with high, gusty winds. The weather didn’t bother her. In fact, she thought it might be a blessing. She was far from peak form—recovering from illness and questioning her running future—and didn’t expect much of herself that day. But as she ticked off mile after mile in the brutal conditions, passing familiar landmarks on the course she knew and loved, something shifted. Opportunity unexpectedly presented itself. Des tapped into her inner strength and found a reason to race.

Lovely and inspiring , but she reads without emotion . Perhaps because I don’t know Des , I couldn’t quite feel what she was feeling . Perhaps if one reads it at your own pace , taking it all in . Not impressed , sorry

Historia
The brilliant new novel from the author of the New York Times best seller Everything I Never Told You. Everyone in Shaker Heights was talking about it that summer: how Isabelle, the last of the Richardson children, had finally gone around the bend and burned the house down. In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is meticulously planned - from the layout of the winding roads to the colours of the houses to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead.

Too much detail
Revisado: 10-24-19
Perhaps I just can’t handle a lot of information. Or maybe this is not really an ideal audible book, perhaps better if you print the pdf or read the hard copy, as there are just to much detail and information to simple listen to it and remember it all. I didn’t finish this book.

Best triathlon book ever
Revisado: 10-24-19
I actually listened to this book twice , I just couldn’t get enough of Chrissie’s story . She is one tough girl . She doesn’t whine or bitch or complain , she go outs and does her thing ! I love they fact that she absolutely fell in love with the sport , and makes one fall I love with it to ! I couldn’t believe her hectic training schedule, no wonder the woman is a superpower! I would recommend this book to anyone who have any doubts about their ability to complete any sporting event , gosh Chrissie most often raced with borrowed equipment ! Awesomeness .

Historia
Deena Kastor was a star youth runner with tremendous promise, yet her career almost ended after college, when her competitive method - run as hard as possible, for fear of losing - fostered a frustration and negativity and brought her to the brink of burnout. On the verge of quitting, she took a chance and moved to the high altitudes of Alamosa, Colorado, where legendary coach Joe Vigil had started the first professional distance-running team. There she encountered the idea that would transform her running career: the notion that changing her thinking - shaping her mind to be more encouraging, kind, and resilient - could make her faster than she’d ever imagined possible.

Revisado: 07-13-19
Wow what a good read , this book was very motivating , Deena is portraying every day struggles we all go through , not just painting a nice picture, but giving us all the nasty truths to, even something as simple as the importance of pooping before a marathon ! So true , I laughed and at times almost cried reading this book. I was hooked from chapter one . Very inspiring , lovely , a definitive must read for all athletes , BUT especially woman
