This was not a Joe Chee story, but the style of writing and storytelling was very consistent. A very easy listen with a couple of twist to the expected ending.

I was not sure what to expect when I loaded this one. I had a feeling he was complex, but hearing his own explianation of he journey was so enlightening. Great lusten fir even casual hip hop fans.

Totally Winslow. Nice short shot.

A classic in many ways. Beware.

I picked up the Big Sleep on a summer special and enjoyed some of the campiness of that Black Mask classic. Chandler was a great storyteller. This book is much of the same however I was surprised by the easy use of racial slurs. Seemed unnecessary and an attempt to appeal to teenage pulp readers. The Marlowe character is complex view of era and would be interesting to hear the backstory develop on how he became a PI. A great listen otherwise, but I’ll probably pass.

This book came up in a summer special list and I decided to listen again. I forgot how unique a book this is. Lots of little things I forgot … like Mr JB being a talk guy and how tough Mma Precious Ramotswe was. It was fun rehearing the origins. On the book #2.

Like father, like daughter.

I was a bit apprehensive, but really enjoyed this book. Letty is definitely Lucas’ daughter. Cool, smart, cold blooded killer. The story was contemporary and showed real people on both sides of the issue. The main characters have a good chemistry and It will be interesting to see how they learn from each other. Looking forward to book #2.

Shades of Socrates Portnoy?

I loved this. Could not stop listening. A classic telling of the two sides most men struggle with … good v evil … law abiding v law of man. Very surprised by how this unwound. Ending was abit flat … but so is much of real life.

Great second act for Emma Djan

A very good story that leaves you guessing to the end on a couple of goods suspects. It took abit to keep story straight with the zig zag time line. The finish is a bit underwhelming ... but maybe thats how real crimes feel when solved. The descriptions and characters make me what to visit Ghana soon. I still miss Darko, but Ms Djan and her mates made for a nice summer tale.

Well worth the length. In his own words.

Ive listened to all Obama books and this one was the most rewarding. Hearing the events in his voice and from his perspective was worth it. Im sure some will complain about it being one sides, but i enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

Puller and Pine make another good team

I was not aware this was a Pine and Puller book when I downloaded it. The story hangs together pretty well and keeps a great pace. The last section on the sister is a great cliffhanger. Good drive book.
