Historia
I have a nice life—living in my hometown and owning the coffee shop I’ve worked at since I was 16. It’s comfortable on paper, but I’m tired of doing everything by myself. Tired of being in charge of every decision in my life. I want someone to lean on, someone to spend time with, sit with, hug. And I really don’t want to go to my best friend’s wedding alone. So, I signed up for a dating app and agreed to meet with the first guy that messaged me. Now here I am, at the bar. Only it’s not my date that just sat down in the chair across from me. It’s his dad.

Sexy & Sweet
Revisado: 05-19-23
First off Pugh and Dalton did a great job. Thier vocals helped me build my mental image of these characters clearer. I follow both talented artist and that is how I found this book. And this book !!! Axel is just the right combination of dominate alpha male and careful soft hearted teddy bear. He's pretty perfect and Maddie is one lucky girl. Their story is sweet and funny and sexy.
I've listened to it twice already while I do my data entry job and I'm looking into the rest of the series I enjoyed it so much.

Rule number one for dating your best friend’s sister: Don’t. Just don’t do it. Especially when your best friend is dead and the last thing he made you promise him was that you’d keep an eye on his little sister, but not too good of an eye.

Cute and sweet until it wasn't...
Revisado: 04-07-23
I am really getting spoiled with books done in duet instead of just switching chapters. I think this might have read a bit better in duet, still great work and fabulous talent though. The history between Holden and LaLa the embarrassing childhood monuments to the intimate and private ones between just them really got me in the feels. But poor Holden, everyone ( especially you Owen !! ) thinking he's not good enough for anyone really. Especially not the precious LaLa. If anyone truly paid attention to his actions around her, they'd see how important she is to him how reverently he’d treat her, does treat her. Yes, he's a flirty flirt and a musician but he is a solid friend, loyal and reliable. Give you the shirt off his back, his only dollar, his damn life kind of guy. He’s balancing a respectable job while still holding onto his dream. I hated that everyone's unpleasant opinion of his dating life made him think poorly of himself when otherwise he's a confident guy. The book minus rude Owen was sweet and fun until the sex started. Which is why I didn't give this a 5 star. I was very disappointed with how VK & PW decided to arrange and treat this couples’ sexy times. Lala is not just one of the girls he passed time with because his heart has always been with someone else, someone he thinks he can't have. This is the girl that holds his heart, and he is getting to have her. Personally, I was expecting a more respectable, passionate, and emotional direction but their first time felt too rushed and casual and too similar to how he’d treat the good time girls minus a few flowery words smattered overtop. But it was the van scene that really, really turned me off ( shakes head with a frowny face ) it was overly desperate, and what he just… come on!!! Normally I truly enjoy both these authors’ styles and approaches have many of both their individual and joint ventures and I plan to continue with the series I just had a few bones to pick with this story.

Once, Emi believed the heavenly gods were righteous and wise, while the earthly yokai spirits were bloodthirsty and evil. But with a traitorous deity poised to destroy her world, and the yokai standing as humanity's only defense, the lies of her upbringing have toppled to reveal a far more terrifying reality. Despite the looming threat, Emi can't escape her greatest distraction: Shiro, the fox yokai who has so deftly claimed her heart for his own.

Wonderful Series
Revisado: 04-01-23
I have so much to say I am having a hard time putting it into words. This was an adventurous and emotional journey into fantasy realms, a lot of danger and powerful gods. Each chapter is packed with rich culture and tradition the great but harsh beauty of nature and of course the potent power of love and the will of man. Annette Marie painted a vivid picture of Emi our little heroin Shiro's little Miko. So devoted, so purposeful, so proud and so very sheltered and lonely. I loved how her overzealous innocence and courage kept freaking the almighty gods into stoic silence not knowing who they were dealing with or what to do with her. Especially Umay his reluctant but loyal friendship to both Emi and Shiro was both humorous and hart warming. Emily Woo Zeller did an amazing job with the narration, giving each new character just as much individuality in their voice as the author did with their description. Even Umay's cawing crows. Just Fantastic!! Obviously, Umay and his cawing lot were a favorite of mine throughout the series (wouldn't mind reading his adventure love story-wink wink!!).

Historia
I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

3 Little Stars ... is generous..
Revisado: 03-20-23
I started this series out of order with Right Man Right Time and I thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed a lot. The banter, antics and brotherhood between the boys was as heartwarming as it was hilarious. I wanted more so I went back to the beginning to Kiss and don't Tell. After Silas and Ollie and Pacey and Winnie I was all giggly and full of the swoonies and really excited for Penny and Eli. Now Hamilton and Navarro did a great job but ... my excitement for Penny and Eli dwindled as their journey dragged along, (halfhearted giggles) and things dissolved into a sexathon, immaturity and crude humor (not feeling swoony) especially chapter 30. Irritated and disappointed I had a hard time staying interested after their joint doctors visit and Penny's horrible behavior upon not getting what she wants from Eli. I liked Penny at the beginning but felt nothing but exasperation and dismay at her steady character deconstruction the closer we got to the end of the novel. I almost stopped at chapter 35 fed up and not wanting to keep on with the nonsense but there was only 48 minutes left and I did enjoy the other two books maybe there would be something redeemable... but another awful doctor visit and more not sexy sexathon made it less than enjoyable. Hoping Holmes and Posey stories are more in tune with Right and Kiss.

Exhausted and on deadline with a story that could make or break her career, investigative journalist Georgia Ross is on the verge of a meltdown when a cancelled flight leaves her stuck in the airport overnight. But when a familiar face appears—the older brother of her childhood friend—and offers help, Gigi seems to have caught a break. Alec Kim is handsome, humble, and kind—exactly the sort of man that Gigi has forgotten existed after her own painful heartbreaks.

4.5 Stars !!!
Revisado: 02-19-23
I struggled with the first quarter or so of the story. It felt a little slow and I wasn't grabbed by the characters or the plot or environment. The narration also dragged my experience down a bit as well. Charlotte Penfield did do a great job as GiGi but her voice for Alec wasn't distinct enough sounded too much like her regular voice and wasn't consistent. Nor did it depict the accents of the places he'd lived that were said to beautifully color his voice. So that is what kept me from giving this a 5 Star rating. I did stick with the story wanting to know why the reviews I read raved so about this book, this love. By the HEA I was happy I'd stuck with the story. Alec is not a superstar with a super ego he is just a man a good one a humble one with a flashy job. He is devoted to his family loyal and earnest and the chemistry that builds between him and Gigi is simply beautiful and something every woman yearns for or at least this one does. The honest joy and depth of emotion between Alec and Gigi kept the sexy times from being overly explicit or trashy they were just sweetly beautifully sensual and steamy. I also greatly appreciate being able to view a reporter in a good light. Gigi had principles and morals. Respect for others and for herself. This was my first book by Ownes, and I will be looking into her other works.

What a Great Ending !!!
Revisado: 02-15-23
My very first Kylie Scott experience was Lick from the Stage Dive series. From there I found the Dive Bar series and Dirty which is one of two favorites from Scott. The other is a standalone called Lies. If you haven't read them, go and do so I promise you will laugh and enjoy immensely !! Both of these stories have awesome characters and are messy but in the best ways. I have them on my kindle and audible and physicals copies for my hands. This book is now joining them as Fav's by Scott and I am looking forward to revisiting this lovely patient slightly messy tale of real and enduring love again and again. There is even a bit of magic in it and a very suspicious Kat the Cat. I didn't want Lars and Susie's story to end but I did love how it ended. I am harsh on how a book wraps up so for me to say Great and Ending in the same sentence is Something !! Andi Arndt did an amazing job as always !! Her tone is beyond pleasant and easy to listen to plus she has a consistent and simple way of affecting her voice for males and extra characters. They don't sound goofy nor does her voice sound unnatural or stressed. Loved this experience I hope you do to !!

Historia
Elani Stewart hasn't believed in "true love" or fairy tale endings since her parents' divorce. It's one of the reasons she developed her dating service "E-romantic", a scientific algorithm-based process that matches one person to their most compatible partners. When clients start dropping like flies, claiming that a bartender at The Arrow led them to the "love of their lives", she decides to take matters into her own hands or risk being clientless. Little does she know she's up against the god of love and passion himself.

4.5 rating Light Fun Cute
Revisado: 02-09-23
This was light and cute and fun, and I like the unique and interesting spin on Greek mythology. The narration would have been a 5 star because I LOVE Bloom !!! But Locklear did a very poor job with the female voices even Apollo's. His regular voice was nice but when he tried to adapt it to a specific character, not so good (Grimace) ! I am thankful he only narrated at the very end of the story. Still, this now shares the fav in the series spot with Hades.

Cute and Silly...
Revisado: 02-06-23
This book is kinda like that saying about a dog being so ugly its cute. Some of the things the author made Hades do are so ridiculous (eyeroll) that they wound up being good-funny and adorable. Steph was an odd duck very interesting and that made the love match that much more believable. I giggled a lot and I am going to continue on in the series it sounds fun, plus I want to know what Zeus is up to and why.

Historia
For ballet dancer Laurel Berg, no amount of artistic expression ever seemed enough to satisfy the ravenous muse within her. Painting didn't have enough brush strokes, music didn't seem to have enough notes. But when the company director announces Ace, front man of the band Apollo's Suns would have a special appearance in their new production, she had no idea she'd be amidst the King of the Muses himself.

Strange Narration ...
Revisado: 02-06-23
I've never listened to Elizabeth Chapple before but there are pauses that stop the flow of the story on top of a lightly monotone inflection that doesn't always convey the words being read. It's not awful, some may not even notice. I have a sensitivity to sound though, and it makes me picky. This is also not a very active or action-packed book. The love match between Laurel and Apollo drags along slowly with an extremely slow burn amongst descriptions of dance sequences and guitar playing. I am going to continue the series because the narrator changes and Ares sounds like there is suspense and action in the story line and I enjoyed the silliness and comedy of Hades. I'm hoping that continues.

Good but I think I'm too old for this ...
Revisado: 02-02-23
This is a good story, very detailed, ( man the detailed beginning got me in the feels and the tear ducts ) it's well- paced and well-written, with believable characters and a nice medium-slow burn. But I struggled with the games the two played when things didn't go just so, or their feelings got bruised ( gasp they might have to speak to one another for clarity before flying away on their angry cloud and shutting down all communication and hope for the future ( lol ) oh, the drama of the young and self-absorbed. I listened to A Little to Close by Rebecca Yarros performed by Callie Dalton, which had older characters and a more mature story line and a good bit of comedic relief. With the same attention to detail, character building, a great back drop and support characters and steamy burn. I still want to read more by this author I like her style I'm just too old for this one.
