Historia
It's Dr. Kay Scarpetta's birthday, and she's about to head to Miami for a vacation with Benton Wesley, her FBI profiler husband, when she notices seven pennies on a wall behind their Cambridge house. Is this a kids' game? If so, why are all of the coins dated 1981 and so shiny they could be newly minted? Her cellphone rings, and Detective Pete Marino tells her there's been a homicide five minutes away. A high school music teacher has been shot with uncanny precision as he unloaded groceries from his car.

Terrible, incoherent, and worst of all, boring!
Revisado: 03-01-15
What disappointed you about Flesh and Blood?
Story sucked. Author seems to revel in inane blather. Bad in last book, worse in this one. It is just not interesting the read/hear about the Italian wine glasses she found in a shop during an unrelated trip years before. And this happiness, again and again. This might be OK if the story held together but major connections are given short shrift. It felt like even Cornwell got bored toward the end. I have read this entire series and am very disappointed that she has gone where she has..........into mediocrity. Either kill it or do it right!
Would you ever listen to anything by Patricia Cornwell again?
Not unless other readers rate it highly. Which would mean she got serious again and started to write the way she is capable.
What didn’t you like about Lorelei King’s performance?
To dramatic.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Had the basic framework of an interesting story. Just did not deliver.
Any additional comments?
I'd like a refund!

Revisado: 10-04-14
What would have made Burn better?
Major story line not resolved. Female cop killed and investigated early in story not resolved. Then demise of bad boy very weak. Lastly, way to much background noise with the Bennit family.
What could James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Finnish the story!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The basic story was good, potentially great!

Good story. Needs editing.
Revisado: 09-02-14
What disappointed you about Sight Unseen?
Great underlying story but the characters in this book were extremely self centered and full of angst to a ridiculous degree. I have liked all the previous books but this one really needed a good edit!
Would you recommend Sight Unseen to your friends? Why or why not?
probably not. Good story. Bad writing.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Amplified angst and tried to act too much!

AVerage at best!
Revisado: 06-10-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The story line could have been a great book. However, the performance was terrible and the dialogue felt as though it was written by a 13 year old. I don't believe that Coots wrote this and that he hired a marginal writer to do the book. I generally love his work, but this was terrible!!!
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Story line carried a good book as a possibility but this was not it.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of J. Charles?
Don't know but this was not good. Might have been the poor prose but it was bad.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment

At Mile 81 on the Maine turnpike is a boarded up rest stop, a place where high school kids drink and get into the kind of trouble high school kids have always gotten into. It’s the place where Pete Simmons goes when his older brother, who’s supposed to be looking out for him, heads off to the gravel pit to play “paratroopers over the side”. Pete, armed only with the magnifying glass he got for his 10th birthday, finds a discarded bottle of vodka in the boarded up burger shack and drinks enough to pass out.

Decent story in need of an ending!!!!
Revisado: 07-13-12
What disappointed you about I, Michael Bennett?
The story did not have an ending. It felt like they just stopped in the middle and left you hanging, almost like they stopped to meet a publishing deadline.
I'm a big fan of this series but was very disappointed by this!
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Good story, great buildout of the bad guy.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
This performer is always good.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from I, Michael Bennett?
About half of the family "filler" needed to be edited out. That got boring.
Any additional comments?
Michael's relationship with his DEA friend wasn't consistent. In the beginning he talks about how they has lost touch then later he says he misses him everyday. Inconsistent.
