The story was predictable but fell a bit flat for me. I’ll continue to read and enjoy Melanie Moreland novels, but this one will not be at the top.

Knot Much Story

Knot much a story. Knot a lot of world building. A lot of mating and ‘knotting’. Made it through the first book and a few chapters of the second, then returned it. Ok with spicy and adult content, but also expect some sort of story telling beyond the bedroom.

New Voices

As new books have been added, I have listened and re-listened to the Mercy Thompson audiobook series, read by Lorelei King, numerous times over the year. King really captures Mercy's voice in how the character sees and interacts within her world. The Dramatized Adaptation cast here did a good performance but some choices were unexpected. Mercy had less humor than how the book reads. Bran older. Adam more growly/angry. I was surprised that Stefan presented with an American accent. Even when I read the books he always had an European accent in my head. But, hey, that's a 'me' thing. The story is still great. Overall, it's a fun, new way to experience a favorite.

Not a lot of background

I really enjoy the world of The Demon Accords and the Stacia character in particular. It wasn’t a bad story, but didn’t really provide a lot of new background on this character. We got a little more on her attraction to Declan, but not much else other than recaps of events that took place in other novels.

Story took a bit to get going. First book was world building leaving the reader with a ton of questions that finally wrap up in the last third of the second book.

Fun Read

Choppy Storyline

The overall story was hard to get into. You start with an amnesiac woman who doesn't know why she's going to college or what's going on followed by a lot of plot holes. The amnesia is never really explained other than she died (don't worry..it's not a secret). A lot of hole filling at the end in an attempt to wrap up all the loose ends. Not a lot of 'world building' so you understand the actions of the characters within the world they live. Narrators did a good job with what they had to work with.

AI Narrator

The Virtual Voice software was unable to distinguish characters so you often did not know who was speaking. Same delivery whether an intimate scene or a battle to the death. Sentences oddly interpreted. Hard to immerse yourself into the story which could have also used some editing. Will avoid future titles using this method.
