The story kept me listening, and I enjoyed the characters in the setting. For me I would’ve preferred less theatrical in the performance and the character voices were sometimes irritating.
some editing might’ve helped cut down on the interruptive story details. Slave reference was treated like wallpaper. Sure, that was accurate, but it was also disturbing.

Mark Leibovich s astute assessment and perfect pitched Style of delivery handed over to us, in this gift wrapped box of meticulously gathered insider facts, a great story; brilliantly Addressing the content swirling around so Many dizzying events of the past few years.
I gave the overall review a “4” only because of one factual error where Mr. Leibovich mistakenly assumed that After Trump rallied his following to march on the Capitol, he had no intention Of going with them as he had promised. Later facts came out during the January 6 hearings that it was the opposite. He very much intended to march with them (a fact much scarier than Mark s Assumption in the book)
The narrator delivered on his job of expressing the fullest interpretation of the author’s subject, form and content. Bravo!

I’ll be searching for any other works this author has /will publish and watching for any interviews or documentaries that include her.
And to anyone seeing her as biased; On the contrary, points made in, especially the epilogue, come from an insider who has lived what she’s talking about with experience, knowledge and information coming from someone who has been required to weigh The scales, more accurately than the rest of us.
This was an excellent autobiography and commentary on The status of world and democracy in these times. And very insightful takes into The optimistic possibilities that a troubled But marvelous United States of America could focus on heading for
I had watched the impeachment process that she testified in on C Span. Her testimony was intelligent and precise. She answered questions factually if she didn’t know the answer, she said so. There were no leanings or spinning’s, and there was not one shred of bias displayed.
In this book, her opinions are rocksolid based on facts that are, tragic for The state of our country, but true.

Listening to this I was like going to theater. Wonderful storytelling by various seasoned actors. The sounds of the voices, music and sound effects
Caused the scenes to Become vibrant and alive.
