Satisfying continuation to the other stories

This is a great listen, and though the story is a little bit of an echo of his others in this “series”, it still satisfies. The character development and intricate story lines woven by Follett are pure genius. Only gave 4 stars for the story because I think it’s my third favorite of the Pillar stories. Yet, as a stand alone listen, it’s a 5. John Lee again does a tremendous performance as the reader.

Intriguing story wonderful narration

Looking back knowing the story was developed long before covid arrived makes this more interesting. Though the story in the end is a little thin, I found it deeply engaging as the characters filled out their roles, and the usual bad-a-s Mitch Rapp brought his unparalleled skills to the rescue. I’m perplexed by some of the reviews that are disappointed in Mr. Guidall’s narration, as although this may not be my favorite of his performances, he is clearly one of my favorites. If you like a good international espionage, expertly performed in Audible, this will not disappoint.

My favorite Gabaldon book

Surprised, and very glad

I wasn’t sure the story was going to engage me, but was surprised in spite of few awkward segments how much I wanted to keep listening. I listen in my car primarily, and look forward to my commute now, in fact drive slower and never rush yellow lights so I can listen to more of the story. Davina Porter seems to have been born to deliver the audio version of this story. Her delivery, intonations, and accent changes for each of the characters is uncanny. I’m on book 4 now and downloaded 5 and 6, hear, unheard. Great story, top notch delivery and thankfully lots of content.
