Historia
Cape May, N.J. 1976 When NYC editor Audrey Taylor finalizes her divorce, it seems as if her entire world has collapsed around her. And when she inherits a run-down Victorian mansion in a decaying N.J. beach town, it only seems to get worse. At least, until she finds the treasure map. The Widow’s Walk is a tale of growth, self-discovery, and learning to appreciate all the good that life has to offer. A romance wrapped in a historical subplot, a mystery hidden in a centuries-old crime, it ties two unsuspecting people together to find a love that neither expected—which is far more precious...

….. is NEVER as good as human(s) narrating the story. This one wasn’t bad but the story would have been so much better with human narration. .

Historia
It’s 1927, and the most devastating flood in American history has swelled the Mississippi River to a width of eighty miles. In an attempt to save a family trapped by the rising water, four men in a tiny rowboat battle the treacherous flow: three are convicts, on loan from the local prison and pressed into service; the fourth, the leader of the team, is driven by his own hidden motives. But to their surprise upon arrival at Ballymore, an ancestral home protected by a high, circular levee, not everyone in the family feels the need to be saved.

NOT a Cork O’Connor series book as advertised.
Revisado: 10-18-24
This was book 18 in the Cork O’Connor mystery series. I was reading through the series, finished book 17 and bought book 18, The Levee. What. In. The. World. Was the author thinking sneaking this book into the series??? It had NOTHING to do WITH THE SERIES. Nothing at all. Nothing. Waste of money. Waste of time as I was looking forward to another adventure in the series.
And worst of all was the narrator. Not the same narrator as in the series, David Chandler, who is an amazing narrator and one of the reasons I started the series when I noticed he was the narrator.
I wouldn’t recommend this story to anyone who is listening to the series. Shame on the author for trying to sell more copies of this terrible book by sticking it into a highly rated series. It’s an awful book.

Historia
All former truck-stop waitress/new heiress Lizbet really wanted was a swimming pool. What she got was a skeleton, suspicious cops...and Charlie. While digging the hole for the pool, workmen discover a human skeleton. Suddenly Lizbet's backyard becomes the focus of the cops, the FBI, and the media. And if that isn't enough, 30 minutes later, Charlie, the skeleton's owner, shows up in ghost form dressed as a sexy, young hippie type, and asks Lizbet to help him find out who murdered him back in 1969.

Very descriptive story about a pedophile murderer
Revisado: 08-24-24
Not as much a mystery or a thriller as it is a sick story about a pedophile who captured little 4 year old boys and kept them in his basement until he tired of them and murdered them.

It was a great mystery with an ending that had a huge twist, however - it is most of all just a supernatural ghost story with much tragedy.

Historia
Unsure of the future but ready for risks, Libby O’Dell trades big-city life for whatever the back roads hold. In this case it’s the small community of Sawmill, Texas, where Libby’s taken a temporary job putting an antique store in order. Her new boss, Benny Taylor, a handsome charmer with a three-legged dog named Elvis, isn’t a bad change of scenery, either. Across the street Benny’s surrogate grandmothers—the widows Minilee and Opal—are ready with homemade corn bread, sweet tea, and an invitation for Libby to join their book club.
