Having never truly gotten into the modern WH40k world this book is a must read. Between learning what happens to the Lion and the things that lead up to the AoO book. The finale chapter itself it worth the entire book

Very quick turn around
Revisado: 09-02-22
So this is a great story a good continuation of the story. It even brings the real world into it and I laughed loud enough to get strange looks from coworkers as I walked into work this morning. Only issue is as I said in the header near the end of the book I was able to start noticing slices in audio file. I don’t know if it was my head set or my phone or what but you can tell there was some poor mixing near the end. Still great listen and if that’s my biggest complaint who am I to complain

Revisado: 11-04-21
After listening to other 40K books mainly set in the Hersey this was a good change in pace. I was looking forward to another book about the Necrons after listing to Trazyns adventures. I was hopping for a light hearted adventure not a start to a epic new charector that I love and want more of. I am going into stasis till book 2 is out

Historia
In 1942, America's deadliest fighter pilot, or "ace of aces" - the legendary Eddie Rickenbacker - offered a bottle of bourbon to the first US fighter pilot to break his record of 26 enemy planes shot down. Seizing on the challenge to motivate his men, General George Kenney promoted what they would come to call the "race of aces" as a way of boosting the spirits of his war-weary command.

WWII Airplane porn
Revisado: 09-28-21
as my headline states this book is basically WWII plane porn. As a history buff and aviation nut this was a good listen. I think the drama was hyped up a little bit more then what really happend but alas I was not there to know the truth or to talk to the men who did live these events. Was it a bad book no. was it a amazing read for one that loves WWII pacific history YES! is this something you can put on for just lite back ground noise and get lost in it for hours yes. Will i relistin to this in the future. I dont know. Maybe a once and done or maybe not only the future knows

Now this is a story
Revisado: 09-28-21
Moving the story along in the series while intoducing new players to the grand scheme of things. This book gives the grimdark a good grimdark vibe. From the telling of the fall of Horruis from the eyes of a Death guard this book is one of my favriots in the series. sadly the change in narraitor was harder to get into at first then it should have been but I think thats just me and by the end of the book his tone and deep tenor is now how I hear all death guard warriors

Diffrent
Revisado: 09-28-21
For this being book 5 in the series its still telling the same storie from diffrent angles. Is it repetitive yes is it good yes. Is this a must read...maybe. The nariator changed yet again for the series and as such it took a bit to get into there style of reading and voice changes for people you have grown to understand in listen for. the rough and tough primarchs have now grown a little light in there boots if you get my meaning. But there is nothing wrong with that. It gives life to this chapter of space marines and there journey through out the fall. Now where is my purple paint I need to start painting my plastic army men purple

Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. A very diffrent take on audio books
Revisado: 09-28-21
Being a Necron player and new to the hobby I very quickly picked this audio book up to make the drive to and from work more easier on myself. It was worth the credit and cash to pick this book up. The nariator gives life to two heros and puts them in a new light that words alone could never do justice to. The book kept me on my toes and introduced me to a deeper world of the Necrons then just the silent legion of scary robot bad guys. This book quickly beacme a classic and one I will enjoy listening to many times in the years to come
